Thank you Charles! I understand what you're saying. I have to learn to be patient and experiment with light, and take many more photos of the scene. Including additional angles etc. etc

Hi! One of the toughest things for me when I started shooting food for clients was to get out of the stock photography mindset, with stock you shoot a lot and see what works, with clients they only if any one or two great photos, patience is key, taking your time and when possible shoot using a larger screen (I’ve used the iPad woth the R5) the client gets to see a large preview and sometimes even give “helpful” input 😅. But yes, taking your time and arranging things, trying different light set ups and using a large screen to preview will help! Best of luck with your shoots 🙌

"Judging the Judge!!" - You are awesome Charles. I have never submitted a photo of my own but I do enjoy your photo critique the most! You have great points and advice that helps me personally think over my photos and hopefully improve them. I also think you need to go at least a stop down on your ratings. You are too kind with your ratings. If everyone gets an A, nobody will be motivated to do more homework and improve 😊 Just in my opinion. Take care brother Cheers

Great video, I like that you are a little more critical on the reviews. Stock is a tough industry. There is a lot of crap that gets accepted and never sells out there, (mine included).
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
Thanks! And yes stock is very difficult to figure out, I am a firm believer that the bad photos helps the good ones get “found” and sold. I have thousands that will never sell, but the few that do, continue to sell week after week. And yes I sell crap too, technically bear crap, but it sells almost every week 😂

Great Vid , 🤩what camera would you suggest staring out for stock ? And macro photography? I only have an iPhone 15 pro. I’m doing research on which camera I should get . My budget is 2,500 , including zoom lenses, if that’s possible ?
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
ore than a camera look for good glass first, the lenses you want to use are very specific, once you find a good quality lens look for a body to match what you want to shoot. $2500 is a good budget, look for mirrorless like a canon r7 or nikon/sony equivalent or used full frame like a canon R6 ro equivalent

Love watching these! One question, you recently mentioned (cant find that video so I'm gonna comment here) something about the remove brush in lightroom and how shutterstock does not AI so you don't use it? I'm not sure if I understood right, there are two options for then brush and one is AI, the other one is not. Could you please explain
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Things change every day, but yes one of the most recent updates for Lightroom uses AI generative fill in one option for the remove tool. At first all agencies said this is not allowed because it is using AI generation based on someone else's photos, Now some agencies allow up to 10% of the image to be replaced this way. I know of a few photographers that got their accounts cancelled or tons of photos rejected for not saying the images were AI generated... So I am very cautious when using anything related to AI

hello dear, cityscape also belong to the editorial photography category?
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
Yes, most buildings in a large cityscape are recognizable, close ups or details can be used as commercial for the most part. but large scenes would fall under the editorial category,
@StArK_Imagery2 ай бұрын
13:42 you rated 4/5 because of the space but I saw one of your videos where you said pictures with space would sell more cos customers would like to maybe write something in front or in the space...
@wollertz2 ай бұрын
Space is good, but its also important to notice how much space, for this particular photo of the mangoes, theres 5 different compositions that could work, unfortunately the fruit in the middle line and so much empty space to the side is just ok in my opinion, you can fill the frame or use the rule of thirds and its totally dependent on composition and subject matter

OT What determines the period during which photos are assessed in Adobe Stock? Recently this time has increased significantly. I received information that the photos will be reviewed within a period of up to 8 weeks.
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure, I keep uploading and they review at different times I have 6 photos pending form a batch I uploaded 4 months ago other photos from the same batch have been selling, as I upload more batches some get reviewed and others don’t I have no idea how they are managing this and I get no real answers from them. So I just keep uploading 🤷♂️

@@wollertz Thank you for your reply. At the beginning, when I had only a few photos added, the reviews were done very quickly. Currently, when the number of photos arrives, there are significant delays. This makes it very difficult to follow the schedule.

Hey real question; Do you feel like stock photography is still a very viable profession for an extended time due to the rise of AI stock “photography” ?
@wollertz3 ай бұрын
It depends on how much time you want to invest into it. For me this is part time and a way to use images I have in my drive, I know of many who make a living wage doing only stock, but thats 40 hrs a week, study trends, schedule shoots, hire models, etc. For me this is supplemental income to fill the voids in between clients. As far as the longevity of it all its tough to say, Stock photography has been around for a very longtime, but it keeps evolving. AI has introduced a lot of problems and "deep Fakes" so I believe there will be a crack down at some point. Editorial photography cannot be replaced by AI, leaving that open to all stock photographers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fma1npRuha-Je7s
@ChrisCannon-m6y3 ай бұрын
@@wollertz thank you for the great reply! I agree that AI can’t fully replace photography especially if the clients and customers have any standards, it’s just getting to a strange point of people accepting ai as real work which is wild! I think we’re coming up to a point where people are gonna have to decide the human interaction with the camera is more important than quick results
