I know this is old, but just found it. What a terrific watch! I have the X-Pro2 and both of these lenses (Nikkor 135mm) but have not used them on the Fuji. The 135mm giving a 200mm equivalent view has great comprehension. I've been using wide to normal lenses for so long that I forgot how arresting that crunched up look can be. Will be dusting off that 135mm lens thanks to this video.

And you can't beat a perfect photo. I'm sorry for who made that photo cause he now has to keep the lvl up to that but the lines, the way she poses, the originality, it's just too good. I was blown away by the ability to capture the right moment by Christopher. The first shot for me has the imperfections of perfectness. Another things, I shot MFT on olympus, always manual. How it is to shot manual with fuji? How the focus peaking works? Do you have it always on? Do you have to press a button every time you turn the camera on like i do?
@AndrewGoodCamera6 жыл бұрын
Moving between manual, continuous and single is a dial at the front of the camera. Once focus peaking is enabled in the menu settings it stays on anytime you're in Manual mode. So no, no special button you have to press when you turn the camera on. And the focus peaking is exceptional. I compared it to the Sony a7iii and in the case of Sony, what it would say was in focus was often way off when I pulled it up in post.

#12 Andrew!!! I have a question to ask you in regards to vintage lenses. So I'm looking for a similar focal length of Fujinon 23mm. If I get the Nikkor 24mm f2, would it be similar to Fujinon 23mm or will it change the focal length x1.5 or ÷1.5 brcause it is a full frame lens.
@s0nglyr1cs6 жыл бұрын
They'll be very similar. Both will look pretty much the same as a 35mm on a full frame.
@AndrewGoodCamera6 жыл бұрын
All lenses focal lengths get applied the same crop factor, regardless of whether made for FF or APS-C originally. So in this case, the 24mm is gonna feel like a 36mm, in FF equivalent terms.
@Narsuitus3 жыл бұрын
The 24mm f/2 Nikkor was the first lens I tried on my Fuji X-Pro1. I had planned on using it as my main lens but had to change plans when I learned that I could not accurately and consistently manual focus on the X-Pro1. Therefore, I purchased a 23mm f/1.4 Fuji to use as my main lens. I now have no reason to use the adapted 24mm Nikkor on my Fuji X-Pro1 or X-Pro2 bodies.

Great choice of lenses. As a byproduct, you showcased why longer focal lengths are ofetn used for portraiture. For me, hands down, the 135mm was the winner. Nothing to do with photography skills, it just produces a more pleasing and interesting image for my tastes.
@AndrewGoodCamera6 жыл бұрын
I much prefer environmental portraits and the angles you can get shooting really wide in street style portraiture. It's personal taste. I hear what you're saying, but the only thing I think when I look at shots taken with a narrow focal length when city streets were involved is "this could have been shot wide." :)
@barrycohen3116 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewGoodCamera For street it makes total sense. I've dabbled in street photography and I prefer to shoot wide, as in 23mm or so. I actually like some of the slight distortions in the people's faces, especially if I catch them in the corners. Seems to be the "classic street look."
