I bought it after watching this video. I primarily use Affinity and have had great results with Affinity, however this application gives me the ability to help teach my kids about photo editing due to the relative ease of how it works. My kids went from, "Dang, dad is gonna be in his office for hours editing photos," to, "Dad's gonna let me click stuff and help." Total game changer for those that can't dedicate hours and hours toward processing projects.

When lightroom first introduced sky as an AI mask/object in lightroom I tried it for a shot or two since I shoot a lot of sunset/sunrise where the sky is extremely bright and you almost always need to shoot bracket or HDR modes. But they weren't really good. I've since came to the conclusion that getting it right in camera is still much more important than software corrections you can have at this stage. I'm always inspired by the famous saying that photography is about making selections. You can't have, or capture everything you see in front of you. And the art evolves around you making a choice of including this or throw away that. We get serious about our craft, investing big bucks on lenses and hardware to allow us create with maximum quality. If you cheap it out and fell prey to laziness, it makes you no different to those with a phone merely point at things and touching.
@My123Tutorials2 жыл бұрын
Strong opinion 😂 Doing everything the right way is great. But sometimes you didn't have the time or the experience. In both cases is a simple and relative fast solution better than leaving it as it is just because the circumstances weren't perfect. And shouldn't you use your resources reasonable even when your goal it is to create "art"? I think this fits the saying "work smarter, not harder".
@jamesjin88392 жыл бұрын
@@My123Tutorials That is no strong opinion. It is a blood basics that you get the RAW file right in camera before you go nuts about who has the best skills in lightroom/photoshop/etc. If you take that as opinion, I'm afraid photography isn't for you. No time, no experiecen, circumstances aren't perferct, are not problems related to my "opinion". They're a constant to any photograher and part of common struggle. And only through working your way around that struggle you develop your own style, your own touch. That there is the very own art of yours, which you literally just mocked upon, that you've been doing all this way along. What a shame. There is no such thing as "simple and fast" solution at this stage unless your camera sensor can do 30 plus stop of dynamic range, or your lens has an aperture of F0.1. As I already tested, lightroom/photoshop sky mask will not 100% always give the best result. You'd have much higher chance rather doing it right in camera at first than rely on those apps later. "No time, no experiecen, circumstances aren't perferct" are mere excuses that you being a typical human just chose the lazy easy way out than do your best. If the sky is overcast and dull, try to shoot something else and come back another day. Don't cheap it out with AI replacements. That is not photography. nor any "resource" available or "smart" act in this field.

I love Skylum products from the Luminar lineup. There are two issues though: 1. They are quite slow on my MacBook Pro. 2. Every year they release a new version that barely has a few extra features and ask you for more money (sure, you have a discount as an existing user, but this kinda becomes a yearly subscription model if you want all their new features). I personally stopped buying and I'm sticking with Luminar AI until they do some bigger new release and fix their performance issues

I liked Luninar for a while but it got several issues, the biggest one for me was when I render a photo directly/indirectly( indirectly through Photoshop coz direct render mostly fails), the colors are washed out after a while when I transfer the image to my iPhone or another windows laptop, I am sure it’s something related to the color chart but it was hard for me to fix. I left Luminar. Additionally, the image size is too much and you need a photoshop to export your image through I guess it was heavy for my system I use iMac 27 inch core i7 though. Not sure if you guys have experienced the same problem.

Always loved Luminar. But switched to Lightroom because Luminar is just way way too slow for batch editing which is most of my photo editing. An album that I can edit in one hour will probably take three hours on Luminar. Same thing when it comes to exporting. Large file size means it takes like 5 times as long as Lightroom to export. Now I will only use Luminar if I want to edit like just one or two photos.
