Thanks for the PE tips. Trying to use more PE as the detail makes the model and this helps. Your work is fantastic - please continue videos on this project as I can't wait to see it progress at the hands of such a skilled artist. Also - after knocking a bottle of tamiya glue over and spilling liquid and ruining my waiting to be assembled Panzer III road wheels, I got a bonus tip - an added base for the bottle so my clumsiness does not ruin yet another kit. My replacement sprue is on backorder...
@SmallSoldier
@SmallSoldier 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Scott! Funny story, I had the very same thing happen to the road wheels of my Tamiya Matilda. I had to get another sprue and have since been using a holder I fashioned from Apoxie Sculpt as you probably noticed in the video. Cheers!

Great tips, Scott! I use wax paper cut into little squares to hold superglue. It beads up on the paper and lasts for several hours, but I like the tea candle idea better. Also thanks for your thoughts on the Proxxon. Until now I haven't heard anyone compare it with the Dremel. I guess I'll be getting me one of those! 👍

Could you elaborate on the advantages the Proxxon has over the Dremel? Thank you
@SmallSoldier
@SmallSoldier 3 жыл бұрын
Sure. Like I said the speed dial has more versatility and having constant power is nice. I also like the balance and the way it fits my hand. It also has a chuck that accommodates bits from large to the smallest size. The Dremel has a collet system that sucks as you have to switch collets when you want to change sizes. Dremel makes you buy a expandable collet as an option which are around $30.00. So in my opinion you get more bang for your buck even though the Proxxon is more money. It cost more but well worth it. Hope that helps.

Awesome . Iwas mesmerised at your construction of the funnels. Im 60 yr old modeller and never ever tried PE before but last 2 kits ive bought ive decided to PE them 1/72 TU16 Badger C came with PE parts and ive bought Tamiyas 1/350 scale USS Enterprise CV65 this didnt come with PE but ive bought all 6 eduard Big Ed PE packs for it this includes superdetaling PE for the aircraft . do you reccommend purchasing a PE Bending station or just using the tools you have used in your video? thanks.
@SmallSoldier
@SmallSoldier Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your kind words. Sounds like you’ve got your work cut out for you with all the PE. I actually find doing PE quite enjoyable and relaxing tbh. As far as tools go if you’re going to be using a lot of PE in the future I would strongly suggest getting a decent bending brake. The Small Shop has some of the best bending tools made. The 2!I use the most are they’re 6” tool and the small one called “The Bug”. Good luck with your PE Adventures!🙂🍻

Great to hear! For blast bags you could use epoxie putty and shape the folds. I'll have to do a video on how to do that in the future. You could order a set of resin ones if you have spare $$. Cheers!

Excellent tutorial, you make it looks so easy! I'll try the candle trick out. What were you using to apply the CA glue? I find I get it everywhere, will order some de-bonder and try that out too. I guess you need to be careful to only apply a small amount or you run the risk of removing the attached photoetch? Thanks
@SmallSoldier

Thanks! I use the tip of a hypodermic needle.to apply the glue. A needle works really well as an applicator.

@SmallSoldier
@SmallSoldier 2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome I hope you enjoy this great hobby. No don't paint the sheets first as the paint will either scratch or flake off. Most pieces need to be shaped, rolled or bent so the paint would be ruined. Good luck! 😉

miniature that's great but which glue is best for pe parts. You never answered
@SmallSoldier
@SmallSoldier 3 жыл бұрын
@@rickmoreno6858 Sorry... lol! I use thick for some parts and thin for others. Thick or medium CA will give you a few seconds to place the part, thin is almost instant. So it depends on the situation. Does that make sense?
