As a beginner, I have been binge watching all your beginner videos. All was going well until I took photos indoors, when I couldn’t get anything other than a black screen, without cranking up the ISO and ruining my photos. Explaining the light meter on the camera really has made it all click for my lonely, single brain cell. Thank you so much.

I'm halfway through a beginners course and despite good teachers, I'm struggling to take it all in with my Fibromyalgia brain fog! :( This has really helped connect the dots and now also understand how to use the light meter. You explain clearly and demonstrate where to find the settings on my Canon and love the cheat sheets. Hopefully when I attend my practical lesson tomorrow night I will have a better understanding, be quicker at adjusting settings and be able to take it all in :)

I have been interested in photography for about 18 months and in that time have read several books and watched countless You Tube videos on the subject. This evening (March 31) I came across your Exposure for Beginners tutorial and it was like a 'Light Bulb' moment for me, I then watched several more of your tutorials. You explain things so well and I have learnt much in the last hour, I can't wait to get out and take some photographs (shame we are on 'lockdown' in the UK!). Thanks very much Paul and I will be looking out for your tutorials each week now.

I come from a world where ISO was a feature of film, and at that time also high ISO films had more granularity: what is now called digital noise. At that time you could force the ISO, in the camera (by mistake) and during development in the lab, which I suppose can now be done with digital development. Great video like all of your channel.

I just got a camera, though a compact one with Manuel, shutter and aperture function on it. Sony hx90v and well the auto programs make nice pictures I wanted to learn more and go off auto. This is easy to understand even if no Sony device. I'm going outside today and hunt for pretty things and get to know my camera better. Even if it's not a cam body + lens camera like yours.

I have to say your tutorials are the best I’ve ever seen!! So helpful and easy to understand. I bought my first DSLR a long time ago (Canon eos350d) only ever used it in the creative modes then just gave up.... Just got back into photography and have bought a Canon EOS2000d and have found your tutorials sooooo helpful. Thank you so much for all the help and advice and please keep up the amazing work!!
