Beats By Jay It takes some time to get sounds but I enjoy the challenge and am still surprised of the capabilities of this old unit. Not to mention I'm not sure my laptop could run the newest software programs like SSD and SD3! By the way, I just ordered a 20"x10" kick drum from Jobeky. I can't wait to play on a real feel drum again!

This song was written and recorded prior to the car crash. Rick still had both of his arms. 1987’s Hysteria album was the first recording after the crash where Rick would be an amputee.

Wow! I've watched this a number of times trying to follow along to use your version to help me learn it and suddenly I noticed something you are doing that I do all the time! You're using Rock Band as a visual reference! I lay mine flat on a tiny throne from my 4 year old's kit, immediately to the left of my hi-hat. You've got yours off to your right on your laptop. I always have people asking if I use a metronome and I explain how difficult and often impractical it is when playing along to a backing track, especially when the pace changes during the song. I consider Rock Band to be a "visual metronome." If I catch my timing slipping a little bit it's easy to notice, and subsequently adjust. Nice to see I'm not the only one. Obviously you memorized a heck of a lot more than I do however. You only look over on occasion where I find myself spending a lot more time looking, and often mis-hitting my rack toms.

I'm not into the one-arm- drumming of latter DEF LEPPARD. However the dynamic playing by ALLEN on the first two albums is amazing and catchy especially realizing 17-18 yr old.

Folks - hate to break it to you, but Rick didn’t play drums on Pyromania. It was a drum machine. A Fairlight CMI. Mike Shipley, the engineer on the record, has stated this fact in interviews.

Another smooth "in the pocket" performance. Curious what type of software do you use in your videos (SSD, EZ drummer, Addictive Drums, etc...)? Or are you using stock Roland 20 sounds, then tweaking and adjusting to fit? It sounds nice & clean with no "machine gunning". Great job and Great production on Sound & Video.

This in incredible, and yes, Rick Allen could not play this way as it's physically impossible. There are moments when you're using all 4 appendages at the same time, so unless he's pulling something out of his pants to help, it's impossible. With crudity aside. I just wish you'd play the song. It stands on it's own merits. The stick spinning adds nothing to an otherwise perfect performance. Unless your day job pays too much to warrant a change, you should just play drums for a living because you are awesome.

Appreciate the feedback Chris! The stick tricks are actually something I started way back in the 80’s when I played in a Hair Band with a group of guys who were amazing showmen and always hogged the spotlight so I taught myself how to incorporate some of my own antics to get some back! It’s just something now that I do almost without thinking about it so I find I get a lot of criticism now. Truth is it’s part of my style so I’m staying true to who I am. Cheers
