That burn out feel hit me a few months back and I've been working thru it , I love shooting but I hate most of the work I shoot. I. bought a new scanner and switched to only 645 in an aim to improve my work and also get better scans. I've been burned out in my work life as well as I hate working in my field, point is I know the feeling and getting pass it works differently for everyone. For me it's been finding the small stuff to make you happy and hyped to push on. Can't wait to see the UK work.

Thanks, man. And yeah, I can relate for sure. And I would definitely agree that we all deal with it and figure out a solution in our own unique way. There's never a clear answer, it's just a matter of moving forward, working through it, and making the necessary changes. Thanks for watching!

I’m sure I saw this video when you posted it, but hearing your back story again was fascinating. When I met you October 2017 at Flagstaff Camera, you were headed east in an F150, I was headed west in an F150. You were eying a Mamiya 7 as I recall. At that time I had you pegged as an old hand at the art of film photography, didn’t realize you’d almost given it all up! I’m glad you found your passion again. Fast forward six years, I’m still enthralled with the American Southwest. My company sold to another company, my team was dissolved, and suddenly I was a freelance engineer. Suddenly I can work wherever I have an internet connection, so plans are underway to sell out and move west. For now, time to develop some more E6!

Man when you said about giving yourself the higher expectations and kinda killing the curiosity and creativity you are so right. I kinda found myself in the same situation. For the past 7 years I did nothing but toy photography. And I too wasn’t enjoying what I was doing with it and not interested anymore. And as of last November I saw your photography and many others and it intrigued me enough to start shooting film. And man I wanna say thank you for that. I truly admire what you do.

History was the optimal word in this vlog. It seems that certain individuals want to erase history and/or deface anything they come in contact with. We have a beautiful mountain lookout near me in North Georgia and it's all tagged-up. A true shame and certainly a great disrespect or lack-there-of. Great vlog!

Hey Kyle! Thank you for doing this. I began photography back in 2011 and since last year I felt like my work wasn’t the best as I knew I could I felt bored about using my equipment (canon) and having to change lenses was a pain for me because I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. A couple of months ago despite the pandemic that’s going on I finally was able to buy the Fujifilm x100f and man I’ve been loving every aspect of it and now I’ve been going places and shoot and it feels fresh and new for me like this is what I really needed. I’m not a pro photographer but I do enjoy capturing moments and places and What you shared to us about your photography journey hit close home to me I really related to it. Congrats on what you are doing right now and this video was amazing!

Watching this made me feel like I was actually chilling with you on a road trip haha nice 👍🏼 great hearing your thoughts on burn out and overcoming it. Great video, last twenty seconds is a testament to that other great rule of photography... when you think you've got the shot don't pack up your gear and split but work the scene some more. Often there's that change of light - or in street a whole new dynamic - which gets you something even better. Cheers for the journey, mate.
