I've never seen a screech owl do ANYTHING during the day, I'm surprised you saw one taking a bath!

It was pretty crazy to see! It was a short encounter, but really exciting!

Holy Buckets!!! You were in my neck of the woods! Great to see you had a great time. Those warblers are tough to photograph for sure. The screech owl never gave me a good spot like you got. Awesome video as always!

Really appreciate it, Mike! We're pretty close to each other. Hopefully we're in the same spot at the same time one of these days. We might have to just make it happen! :)

@@matthewgehly Ill be in Benezette for Elk Rut 29 Sept- 3Oct. Maybe I'll catch up to you there.

@@mikeanderson9957 Oh man...I wish...it looks like I might miss the rut this year. It's my daughter's senior year of volleyball. As much as I love the rut, I'm not going to miss a second of her playing. :)

Great footage and moments! You got some interesting birds on that side of the big pond. You seemed to get really close to most of them. Did you use R7 in this case or the R5 crop mode? My problem is often the distance, it is difficult to get close enough to the birds in most places I go to (in Finland).

Thanks so much for watching! I used the R5 and 100-500RF lens in full-frame. I have a hard time getting close to wildlife locally, so I know the frustration of being close enough to make an image. My advice would be to become an expert at small in frame shots and creatively incorporate the environment into the image. :)

That’s everyone’s problem. It just takes patience and to some extent good technique and luck. A camera/lens with longer reach isn’t a substitute for getting closer.
