Your pictures inspire me when I plan to visit Magee in May. I had my best visits a couple years ago when I picked up over a dozen species at Magee. My best bird picture was a surprise find of a Kirtland's warbler down in a Columbus park.

Heck yeah! I'd love to get a Kirtlands!

Wow ! Very cool video :) This place might be like my "final frontier" for Warblers anyway :) I'm actually doing a 30 full day birding trip this year, from April 22 to May 21.... but mostly South Texas, and SE AZ on the way home. After this trip, I think I won't have much choice, but to visit Magee Marsh to get a few more Warblers, which I'm unlikely to get anywhere else :) You mentioned Black-throated Blue's several times, and got some great shots :) That is maybe my biggest nemesis Warbler. We had a vagrant BTB come to Nor Cal last year, but I was not able to make the 5 hr round trip to get him, and have been kicking myself ever since :( Thanks very much for posting this :)

Thank you! I'm all too familiar with nemesis birds. Aka any owl! I hope you can get to Magee. It's a crazy cool place!

Congratulations on your lifer black-throated blue warbler. I remember so vividly the thrill of seeing my first. They're such gorgeous birds. If you don't mind my asking: what are the other 13 lifers you got? I've seen many north American warblers but mostly during Fall migration as they passed through central Florida where I lived, so they weren't in their bright breeding plumage. Of the east coast warblers I still haven't seen a cerulean, connecticut, Canada and mourning warbler yet. I really enjoyed your video. Nice captures.

Canada and Mourning were also among the lifers. I'll look to see the list for sure. Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Next time you're in the area, check out Howard Marsh, only about ten minutes from Magee. A good place for shore birds.

How do you take such good videos of the birds up close. Do you have a canon camera because that is what I have. I can’t figure out how to get videos to go onto my phone/ iPad. Do you know how to or like what software you use? Thanks. I love the videos of the warblers. Thanks again❤

I shoot with a Canon r6ii and a 7dii. I shot most of the bird footage in 4k 60fps. A lot of the talking head is done with my Samsung in 4k 30 fps. I edited the whole thing in imovie and uploaded it in 4k.

Do you think mid-April , we will be able to see lot of birds ? I am thinking of driving a day trip coming Sunday 14th April

It’s early for the warblers, but the marsh will be full of waterfowl, herons, and trumpeter swans. Check the Ebird hotspot map as the date gets closer to see what people are seeing/hearing.

It's a bit early for peak migration but you will definitely see local birds and early migrants. Good luck!
