Great sentiments. Yes tell him to love his enemy but tell him to beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing too. We travel through this valley of darkness as the psalm says. Hope does remain, not for this broken version of life but for life itself which is eternal. Obama tried to pick up those who fell with Obama care, (in Australia we call it Medicare), but he got publicly executed for it. True light overcomes even the darkness of death but this is the light we all reject as John says. God simply is whatever it is that love is and He simply is whatever it is that life is. Throw God in the bin and we throw these out with Him. If you want your son to be a real man show him the crucified Christ. This is our story. It's why every fairy tale is the same - the struggle for the light to overcome the darkness. This struggle gives our life meaning. Sorry about all this but you ask the eternal question. The kingdom of God is not based on power as this life is. It's based on righteousness.
