Thanks Geoff...excellent. So much to enjoy in that little patch...and using that diagonal in the fence was very good indeed...many would have found it a distraction but it worked perfectly

Thanks 👍Terry. I committed myself to processing that diagonal fence beam, by the time I had finished with it in PS I kinda wished I hadn't lol :) - All joking aside it worked well and it added some additional interest to the image for me.

The 2 red poppy images are beautiful! ANd I like the division of the fence between the pools of daisies.
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The poppies came out really nice. I have several more images that I didn't include in the video, that I will probably upload to my Flickr and Facebook account in the upcoming days. As for the Fence, well, I knew it would be a bit of pain when I took the photo and committed to myself to editing out the fencing, what was in my minds eye a 10 min job, became a labour of love, still the result was worth the effort.

Hello - new friend here, came over from Howard Grill Photography. Yes, I love flowers and your soft images. How can I choose a favorite? We’re the red ones poppies? I think I’ll choose those with the color contrast.... nice to meet you 😊😊
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jennifer, yes the red one were poppies, each year I plan to go out and photograph a field of them, each year I fail to do so lol .. Still I try to make up for that failing with capturing some wild flowers, and I have to admit It was really enjoyable doing so. On a related note I was hoping to be out this weekend doing another video, unfortunately, car has been in the garage for nearly 3 weeks and that's limited me in my options. Would you like to see more flower photography videos, woodland or landscapes?
@JenniferLupine4 жыл бұрын
@@GeoffMoorePhotography Well, flowers really are my favorite... 💕💕... but what I am enjoying with KZbin is seeing the different areas that people live and the beauty all around. I hike so I also love the forests and landscapes... I was impressed at how you stuck out photographing in the rough weather at the Isle of Skye! That’s dedication!

@@JenniferLupine Ha thank you! I'm afraid toughing it out was an easy decision. It was that or walk back 500 mile home lol - Again sharing the experience with other members of the group really helps the enjoyment of the rather inclement weather.

Nice post Can u please briefly describe how u achieve ethereal effect in Lightroom? Also have heard very good reviews of canon 28mm macro that pairs with M50 have u ever tried this lens on your camera ? Regards Isaac Isaac
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Hello Issac, I shoot Pentax as my primary stills camera with the Canon M50 for my video work. In order to get the soft and ethereal images I have produced above, its really important to get a decent subject and plenty of light, shooting at mid day is a good option. I use a wide aperture around f/2.8 and control my exposure with a high shutter speed, keeping a close eye on the histogram not to blow the highlights. Post Processing: I use a combination of LR and PS but you should be able to get 80/90% the way in LR alone. look to reduce your highlights and whites to suit. You should also look to increase the saturation of reds, oranges, cyan, blues and pinks but decrease cyans and blues vibrancy, however you will need to experiment to see what works best for your subject. Radial filters and negative clarity and sharpening are then used to create the desired soft feeling around the frame. You will need to use adjustment brushes etc to control clarity and sharpness. I hope this helps. I might do a video on the post production if there is a enough demand. Regards Geoff moore.photos

@GeoffMoorePhotography Жыл бұрын
Hey Jan, its something I have considered, but there are so many tutorials online and on youtube, which would be better than anything I can produce, I'm not sure anyone would get any value out of what i could show. Never say never though, and who knows with spring on its way i might feel differently about it in the next few weeks. I will be making an update version of this video however, so stay tuned for that.

Nicely done Geoff. I like the filmy look you created and the softness is lovely too. Did you add a texture to create the almost mist like look?
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Wendy. The images were over exposed on purpose and then additional exposure was dialled in. The whites/highlights and colour luminosity were reduced, which helps bring a softer feel to the image. I did think about applying a texture but actually didn't in these images.
@wcwendychapman4 жыл бұрын
@@GeoffMoorePhotography Thank you. They turned out very well without making those extra steps with added textures.
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
@@wcwendychapman Thank you. I think on my next foray into this style of photography I will explore the texture aspect a little more. I have seen some images produced where its does add an additional feel and mood to the image which I quite like.

Wonderful ethereal images Geoff and top marks on the processing. How did you go about getting permission to photograph them, you didn't say? Keep up the great work!
@GeoffMoorePhotography4 жыл бұрын
Ha! Due to PII legislation I can give out the details of the individuals, whose's permission I need to seek, what I can say is that they belong to the 'Lesser Community' movement group! Still, the result from the exercise has proved fruitful, a set of images I really like and are pleasing to the eye. They also make for great desktop backgrounds :)
