I find that all the time when I'm out Macro'ing, find one, then your eye seems to set in, and then find loads. Aperture stacking, never heard of that one, something to try next time out, Thnx for that. Dark Moody images also, something else to try, I always seem to use flash and get light as is, Another thankyou ! Consider me subscribed... Well done that man.

Looks like a very productive trip Geoff. Glad to see the camera went out of focus on your boat race after being up all night without sleep - a scary view that would have been!! Some great images, and some cracking timelapse shots too, and hopefully you capped it off with a Maccy D's.

Ha yes, I think my M50 has had its day, its been abused and subjected to some of the worst weather the UK has to offer and is now starting to show signs of its age and experiences. What to replace it with. I could use my DJI Pocket 2 as the C-Camera going forwards, but that flippy screen of the M50 is just perfect.

Great job, Geoff. What a fantastic structure - on my list to get there at some point. I loved the landscape shot with Rho Ophiuchi looking nice and colourful, the light-painted tower and the timelapse (looks like someone was using a laser polar pointer at some point during that?). Super helpful to explain how you shot and then stacked each image too. Great stuff. 👍
@GeoffMoorePhotography20 күн бұрын
Thanks Paul. Its well worth a visit and really accessible parking too. The laser pointer was my mate Mark, he was setting up his star tracker as he uses a Move Shoot Move. (i have one too but) im fortunate that I have that built into my camera so can do hypothetically upto 5 mins tracking at a time which make my life a little easier. I'm pleased to read you enjoyed the video, i'm not a gate keeper of knowledge, none of us got time for that :) So, if i know something, i'm more than happy to share.

A very successful trip, a really well found landmark and all to yourself in some nice conditions, thanks for sharing the experience. I could imagine being there for the night, you managed to set up another camera as well which is a feat in itself as generally it all goes to pot for me when I try that sort of thing. Really well done, looking forward to the next one!.

Thank you Kevin. It was a great night, the most challenging part was standing up and not having anywhere to sit and rest. One of those concrete track ways on a slope. Not comfortable to sit down on, not comfortable to stand on. in the end i had to rest my feet and legs for 15 mins so lay down in the middle of the track and hopped for the best, as I wouldnt be getting up particularly quick lol :)

Thanks Steve. A return trip is planned, id argue the shots taken from a top of Man Tor at 3am were significantly better, a full on inversion working up the valley and round the base of the hills illuminated with a setting moon, only thing missing was a car light trails coming up the road. No vlog. but just the expereince. Next time however, will be a different story :)

That is some absolutely stunning scenery! The conditions looked to be perfect too. My favorite is the 1:1 central composition 5:16. Great video Geoff 👌
@GeoffMoorePhotographyАй бұрын
Cheers Lee. The conditions where good, but a little heavy if i'm honest. We were actually on top of Mam Tor earlier in the morning around midnight to 03:00 and the the cloud inversion of the valleys below from up there illuminated with Moonlight was something rather special, alas, it wasn't what I planned for from a vlogging point of view or specifically what I was looking to photograph, but I return visit has been planned to rectify that.

What an excellent job you did here Geoff. It captures the beauty and serenity of that morning so well. Some lovely soft pastel tones in the shots to accompany the one of the tree on the hilltop. As for breakfast, making sure we were billeted close to a Morrisons with a cafe was always going to be a given 😅
@GeoffMoorePhotographyАй бұрын
Thanks Dom. It was a great morning, waiting in anticipation, and few nice shots, although i think we had too much of a good thing with the conditions. As for the breakfast arrangements, well I cant complain too much I understand the need, but my protest was in the vein hope that Mc Donalds would see my plight and rectify the situation by repurposing the Quiet Woman at Earl Sterndale into a Mc'd's! - :)

Its a great Camera and one I have been very pleased with for several years, however mine has now started to fault and cause me issues which leads me into a bit of a predicament. Look to replace it with a second K1 and spend monies on an old, but tried and test tech, or take the plunge and return back to Canon land with a R5ii when its released in the not to distant future if the rumors are to be believed.
