Love my D200! Bought it for $35 a few years ago. Already blew up a photo of flowers real big and have it on our dining room wall. Great cameras, thanks for this video.

I just bought one on ebay for $56 but the battery didn't work and some woman who wore a lot of perfume used it.

Something similar happened to me as well, a camera arrived smelling of stale man perfume. Very annoying XD

@@mikaelrphoto I "dusted" it with baking soda and wiped it up with a paper towel with hydrogen peroxide 2x and wiped it down with Isopropyl- there was some remediation but I can still smell it when I put it to my face. I also got one from Roberts Camera aka Used Photo Pro on ebay for around $106 and it has less than 7200 shots taken with it. 😬 Maybe if I let the smelly one it sit in the sun fir a while it will dissipate faster.

2 hours under the mild sun before 10am or after 3pm can do the job. Never put under direct strong sun light and you are baking the rubber and kill the camera.@@413TomaccoRoad

Even today a really good value for someone on a tight budget. That it meters in AP with old manual focus Nikkors opens up tons of excellent, cheap lenses. The sensor is esteemed for its film-like quality. As for the 10 mp, today's upsizing apps and AI opens up a lot of possibilities for big prints.

Really nice images!!! I own a Nikon D200 myself and I absolutely love it. I bought it because I disliked the D5500 and just wanted to get back to simpler photography. So, I got a Nikon D200 whilst doing minimal research (all I know was that the D200 played with my AF-D lenses better), paired it with my manual focuses lenses and voilà, mesmerising combination

I took up photography late, but got an old D200 and found it to be perfect to learn the fundamentals on. I still use mine and recommend it for new photographers. It struggles in poor light, but the colors are outstanding and it makes it easy for newcomers to really learn about Aperture/Shutter/ISO when taking pictures. Also, I'm a firm believer that the better lenses matter most, and with the autofocus motor in the D200, people can pick up very cheap pro level AF and AF-D lenses.. not to mention using the old AI and AIS manual focus lenses

Hi Andy, of course beauty is in the eye of the , well, you get it… I have both the D200 and D300. The D300 is about the best ‘feeling/fitting’ camera I have ever held, even over my D500! The colors of both the D200 and 300 are fine, both different sensors. All in all I think I’d pick the D300 IMO. I remember the D200 was one of the most talked about and anticipated cameras of its time. A Studio Photographer friend of mine was counting the days till its release. I kind of miss those days. Photography has gotten so clinical nowadays, I don't know? Stay well.

I like that you are testing older model DSLR's like the Nikon D100 & D200. Not everyone wants or needs the latest model cameras. I would like to get a Canon Rebel 3i. Have you ever tried out Canon DSLR's before? Thanks for the videos.

Nice. I got a D200 last year, but neglected for a while. I was used to my D3500, and the extra weight was uncomfortable. But that cam just got a different use, so I am out of alternatives. I still find the bulk and weight are major disadvantages of the 200. Also, configuring it takes longer, as there are a lot of options and buttons and knubs and..... I'm still learning this camera, but it seems to be working very nicely.

I went on a hike yesterday with my z7ii, zf, a few z lenses and the d200 with 18-200mm. The extra reach in the d200 was just amazing. The vr of that lens works great even at sunset I was zoomed out at 200mm on a mountain and got great photos. I’m thinking this camera isn’t just perfect honestly. The jpegs are also amazing. I’m using vivid and boosted the saturation and it just looks so good for landscape

Any way to get the JPG colors applied on RAW files in LR? Love the D200 jpg colors but would love to have them on the more editable RAW files.
@mikaelrphoto Жыл бұрын
Trying different color profiles might work, but I don't know if LR has the jpeg color profiles for the D200. Possibly Nikons own raw editor from the time has them.
@giorgostrc6878 Жыл бұрын
@@mikaelrphoto Capture NX or whatever the name indeed has them, but you can only export to TIFF and JPEG losing editability. On the contrary non of the camera matching profiles present in LR actually match what the camera produces. Interestingly enough, there are 3 DX2 profiles present which are "better" but not quite close. This camera will probably force me to shoot RAW + JPEG ...

Thanks for watching! Using 200 ISO is more out of habit from using the D700 and Fuji cameras, where it is the native ISO. But yeah, the native ISO is 100 on the D200, so it should give the best results.
