A photographic audit of the former ICI works now known as INEOS at Weston Point, Runcorn. A familiar display of security-crippling paranoia on seeing a man with a camera on a public footpath. The clueless police poodles turned up in their own unquestioning servile way, demonstrating that although attendance targets are being missed all over the country, Cheshire can find three vehicles and four officers to investigate a legal activity from a law-abiding citizen.

I had thought that as well. Say, "Just getting some pictures for the _story."_ When they ask what story say, "I can't go into details but it's the typical one about corruption of public officials, malfeasance in office, misappropriation of public funds, tampering with evidence, suborning perjury, promoting prostitution and so forth. I understand indictments will handed down shortly, would you like to make a statement for the record?" I'm betting they don't. So then say, "Well, if you'd like to make a statement _off the record_ just let me know. I will almost guarantee that they will not ask you to turn your camera off then.

Excellent, I cannot overstate how much these videos are important to the community in bringing to notice the lack of common sense, and lack of knowledge Police officers have. That’s not to mention their complete lack of the the law and it rightly makes them look stupid. I am 66 and spent my entire life thinking if a police officer says something then they are right and I should do as I’m told. How wrong I was, it’s a bit late in my life but videos like this are educating me about my rights. Well done and thanks.

Full marks to you for standing your ground. It annoys me that the police keep complaining that because of cuts they have to reduce the number of officers and they can no longer protect the public but they soon find the staff to deal with silly stuff like this. If the officers aren't actually on a callout to deal with a crime they could at least park up in a known high crime area and perhaps have a walk around just as a visual deterrent, at least that could be seen as productive activity till an emergency arises.

I absolutely love your style. You are quite different to most auditors. You’re phraseology is unique. And the logic you use to disarm the poor uneducated cretins in uniform, who are unprepared to deal with anyone educated, is razor sharp, yet calm and thought through. The thing I like most is the way you convey a sense of bewilderment at being questioned in the first place, for just taking pictures. I love it when you say something like “ is this the only right, of mine, that you don’t like” ? Or I was just undertaking a legal activity from a public footpath. Keep up the good work. You are a refreshing change when compared to many other auditors. I’d love to be able to give you a few tips on camera work having spent 40 years working with them but I doubt we’ll ever meet.

Well done you. You were very reasonable towards them despite one coppers attempts to lure you into the trap of being the driver of the red vehicle. As soon as you are linked to a vehicle as a driver they can demand your details under the road traffic legislation. They never ever want to just have a conversation it’s always a fishing trip. I have seen some if your other vids and agree very much with your comment about how the see saw is weighted against the individual. The police instinctively favour the corporate complainant. Keep on holding the line that taking photos is a lawful activity and as such there is really no reason for the police to quizz you to establish what’s going on. Photography is going on that’s all. It pays to mug up on the much abused terrorism legislation. The ordinary copper is usually vague on it so will fall back on prevarication and BS.

the house i was decorating got burgled , the carpenters lost about £8000 in tools, it took the police 4.5 hours to arrive , 1 forensics officer, no door knocking or anything like that. Later that day walking back to the car i see 5 police cars and 8 officers having just pulled over a small car with 1 person in it. not so sure its a lack of resources but selective investigation

After watching this I'm seriously considering moving to Runcorn. Does anyone know what the house prices are like? Where I currently live is quite a crime hotspot city. But this place looks wonderful. Any town where the police have so little to do ,that they can afford to send 3 publicly funded vehicles and four officers, all to a man legally taking photographs...well, it must be paradise. I bet things like break ins, muggings, assaults, rape and theft are almost unheard of!

That is just as ridiculous as her calling someone out for not recognizing her gender! 🙄 I guess it’s not near as ridiculous as 3 policemen … or 2 policemen & 1 woman policeMAN … interrogating a man doing a perfectly LEGAL activity!! So which is it, the initial call was for a “suspicious vehicle”, but also the initial call was for a man with a camera? This entire encounter was ridiculous, & I love that you’re so polite while also pointing out their ridiculous response & behavior over a man doing a legal activity!

The problem is that the police know the photography laws and that legally they can't move you on: only thing is, due to their sometimes dubious acts themselves, they want to be able to stop you and because they can't, they'll try to find ANYTHING that can give them cause to do so, no matter how random or tangential it may be.
