Very strange Frans. Change the camera to the manual mode, then look at the image quality settings again. I feel like it's doing that because you're in a program or special mode.

Hi mike, yes the X-T200 has the grain effect setting and you can change it between three levels of intensity.

Hi Mike, after looking at the manual. It looks like Fuji removed this option. The Grain Effect is usually a setting found under the IQ (image quality) main menu page. And it's usually in the first tab of that list. That's where I can find it on the X-T2 and the X-S10. Didn't realize they'd removed this option. But, it's likely a separating factor to push photographers between the X-T200, X-A7, X-E4 and the X-T30 and X-S10 cameras.

Hi, if I had to guess I'd say it's because you're in the wrong shooting mode. I believe this feature only works in the Portrait scene selection mode. It may also work in the fully automatic mode too, but I'm pretty sure it only works in some specific shooting modes.

Can you please go into some detail concerning greyed out settings and why I would be unable to access them? I followed pretty much every setting you suggested and when I want to select ones you have shown in the video, mine are greyed out and unaccessible. Why is that? It's driving me crazy! I've read that having the camera on certain settings will cancel out the availability of others but it seems like I didn't even have this opportunity from the get go. Like for video the ONLY settings I can change are the white balance and I don't have access to change the setting I want when the option is selected. Please help!

I was switching between the M (manual) Mode, the 4K mode, and SP/Auto. Some of the settings vary between modes on Fujifilm cameras. So, you have to swap modes to find specific settings.

Hi Dr Dhiman, I would suggest using the video mode then going into the manual section of that mode. Doing so will keep your photo and video specific settings separate and make it easier to quickly switch between modes. You can also use the standard manual mode like you described. But, you'll have to change all of the settings each time when going between photo or video modes, and that slows down the workflow quite a bit.

A question. So I was taking my x-t200 out during the night and tried to take some pictures, but they all came out to light and digital looking. For when I click the photo button it focuses in the middle and adjusts the light so that the whole photo becomes much brighter than what it really is. How to I take this focus away? I want my photos as dark as I see them through my camera before I take the picture.

Hi you can’t change that function about the X-T200. All cameras adjust the aperture automatically to wide open to help the camera focus. It’s just how cameras focus, since without enough light they won’t acquire the target. So your best option would be switching the X-T200 to manual focus, then you won’t see that affect.

Hi Miyamoto, yes you can change the shutter speed when recording video. We had the same issue. I believe the fix for this is changing from the 4K video mode on the mode dial to Manual (or Aperture or Shutter Priority) Modes THEN hitting the record button to start video. I believe the 4K Video Mode has a default minimum shutter speed setting that automatically changes to compensate for exposure/metering. I think you can change that setting. But, I don't recall where to do that. So the way to avoid this problem is to start videos in another mode, which gives you full control over all of the exposure settings.

Hi you can adjust the ISO in the Video Settings menu, which is a subsection of the main menu. But, the minimum ISO on this camera, if memory serves, is ISO 200, not ISO 100.

Hi Rana, I would suggest starting with these settings: White Balance - Auto, F-Stop - F/4.5, Shutter Speed - 1/60th second, ISO - Auto, Resolution - 4K, Frame Rate - 24 FPS, Autofocus - Continuous Wide/Dynamic AF. The idea is to set the camera to a continuous AF mode and give you enough depth of field so it can record you moving on the stage as your perform. But, considering most venues have LED lights that change color, setting the white balance to Auto will be best there.

Oh I see. I'm not sure if it saves them one at a time. My understanding is that you apply these changes to the JPG processing in-camera using the Image Quality Settings menu. There you can apply tone curves, color changes, noise reduction, sharpness and add film simulations. And the camera should apply all of these changes to EVERY JPG so long as you don't recent the menu settings. That's how it usually works.

Some models seem to allow for seven of those settings profiles to be saved, but with this camera it appears to operate like you say, but only allows one such 'configuration' of those settings to be saved for reference. Like if I had 2 configurations of the image quality settings and i wanted to be able to quickly jump between them, I couldn't do that, I'd have to manually change the individual settings (noise reduction, tone curves) each time.

Yes unfortunately. This is how all Fujifilm X cameras operate to my knowledge. It's quite frustrating if you want to "cook up a film simulation" as they call it that replicate say Fuji Instax or some other special look that's not native to the camera. It makes it difficult to have multiple of these saved. What we do is write them down on our phone, then commit to a certain setting before going out. Not ideal. But works.

Hi Gessini, go into the autofocus menu and make sure the autofocus mode is set to "continuous". Then scroll down that page, and to the face/eye detection settings, there make sure phase/eye-detection is enabled and select "Eye Auto"

Hi, go into the Main Menu, on the second Tab labeled "AF/MF" select "Face/Eye Section Setting" then "Face ON/ Eye Auto". Then turn the camera to continuous AF and the tracking will work as normal.

Hi Ashutosh, double check that the camera is in the M (Manual) Mode on the mode dial. I'm pretty sure you can't select RAW if you're in one of the SP fully automatic modes. I think most those default to JPEG alone.

Hmm. I'm not really sure here Benny. You should be able to select from AF-C, AF-S and manual focus on this camera. And those options are in the AF/MF menu. I would say try resting the camera setup menu then look in the AF/MF tab to see if that options back.

You can record 15 minute 4k video clips as often as you want. If the X-T200 had only allowed one 15-minute 4k clip per day, it would have been a big issue for most owners and potential buyers. The maximum limit is just to help ensure the camera doesn't overheat. I tested my X-T200 and by the end of a 15 minute continuous 4k recording, the area where the battery compartment is situated felt warmer but certainly not hot. I think Fujifilm have just played it safe by erring on the side of a shortish maximum time limit.

Hi Lenin, if I remember correctly we solved that issue by recording videos in the Manual mode. For both the 4K Movie mode and the Program modes, the camera defaults to changing the shutter speed as you move. And that inevitably ruins the video. Try recording videos in the manual mode instead, there you can start recording by pressing the video record button and set the shutter speed manually. Let me know if that works.

Hi Mayank, we sold the X-T200 about 6 months ago. So unfortunately there's no way for us to record this video. I would suggest going to the Fujifilm website, under their support section, and reviewing the manual for the X-T200. It's quite easy to change these settings when using the manual mode since the camera has command dials.

Hi, I'm going to have to guess on this one. But, I'd assume it's doing that because you're in one of the semi-automatic shooting modes, like P, S, A or maybe the SCN mode. In these modes, there's a menu setting that controls the Auto ISO value. My guess is that it's set to ISO 400, rather than the camera's base ISO of 200. Try moving over to the manual mode, then adjust the ISO. If it works fine there, which it should, then the Auto ISO setting is where I'd check.

Change the aspect ratio back to 16:9. You're basically cropping the video in camera by setting it to 1:1. And that would explain why it's zooming in on the screen.

Hi Rishav, your only other option is to use a lens with optical image stabilization. The digital image stabilization works okay on the X-T200. But, it's not nearly as effective as reducing the wobble and shake from a lens with O.iS.

No. Use 4K to record the video, then export it using Final Cut, iMovie, or some other video editor on your computer to 1080p. Uploading videos in 4K here on KZbin can take several hours, depending on its length and your internet bandwidth/speed. I wouldn't recommend it for most videos. It just slows down the workflow too much. So upload the videos in 1080p instead.

Hi Akash, are you saying all of these settings are not enabled? If that's the case, it may be cause the cameras in the fully automatic shooting mode. And it will disable these settings, as it sets them automatically depending on what you're shooting.

Hi Goce, you'll need a zoom lens like the 18-55mm. Without a lens with a physical zoom mechanism, you won't be able to zoom into the image on this camera. The only other way to replicate a zoom is by cropping the photo after the fact on the computer or on your phone. But the effect isn't quite the same.

You want a gimbal for compact mirrorless cameras, rather than one aimed at larger DSLRs or compact cinema cameras. The gimbal we used for it was the Zhiyun Weebill S. And it works great for the X-T200, X-S10, and the X-T2-4

@@arijitchanda5177 if there is TRS 2.5 to Type-c cable ,provided with the gimbal, then just buy a TRS 2.5 to Trs 3.5 converter, and you will be able to start stop recording through Gimbal... Otherwise, keep praying that u can get that TRS 2.5 to Type-c cable anywhere in India at a reasonable price 😭 This XT 200 has a 3.5 mm jack which also works as remote release , and that's the main problem, im facing the same issue like u , popular brands like DJi also does not providing atleast there RSS cable in the box .. 🥺🥺

Hi Rishav, my assumption is that the X-T200 would work fine with the gimbal, but the controls (like video start stop) from connecting the gimbal directly to the camera via USB won't work. So you'd likely be using the SC as just a normal gimbal without the benefit of the direct camera controls. We've had similar issues with several older cameras not supported by various DJI and Zhiyun gimbals, but it wasn't ever an actual problem.

Ok so the best way to improve the quality here is to select the proper shooting mode on the camera. On the top of the X-T200 on the right side you'll see the cameras mode selector dial. On that dial there are a few options. But the ones you'll want to use are the Hill icon (landscape) and the stickman running icon (portrait). Turn the dial to the landscape mode when your shooting beaches and roads, then to portrait when you're shooting people. The camera will adjust the settings differently to improve the images. And that's the first major step to getting better results than the iPhone.

Hi I'd say the problem is your camera settings aren't set properly. The camera has a function where the screen automatically adjust the image to make them look correct. You can actually turn off this setting too, if you wanted to. But, it doesn't transfer these settings to how it actually will capture images. So to fix this, turn the camera into the Automatic Mode and this will solve that problem.

I'd say not much. They're both going to deliver the same effective frame rate and motion blur. 23.98 FPS is just the official value. But, since it's harder for most people to talk about, it seems manufacturers just shortened it to 24 FPS so it's easier.
