Photonis Echo camera comparison

A quick video of the same Photonis echo tube. One video is recorded using a Smartphone and the other video is recorded using a proper mirrorless camera. The Sony Cameras CMOS sensor mirrors roughly the sensitivty of a human eye while the smartphone wont get close.
The purpose is to show that you can't really trust tube comaprisons Solely done on a smartphone camera due to the lack of sensitivity.

How did you connect it to the camera. Is it some special e mount connection? I know Amazon has the cellphone adapters. But for camera lenses I've been at a loss.

Hi! Sorry for late respons. But I use a 55mm to 49mm male to male adapter on the lens, and then a 49 female to 37 male adapter, and then a 37 female to a 30 male adapter that connnects to the dipoter of my PVS14.

looks pretty noisy even through the sony; what's the SNR on this? BTW love your vids

Everything will struggle indoors when it's only starlight outside. The windows you see in the videos aren't visible to naked eye how dark it is outside. The SNR is 26.85 on this tube. The purpose with this video is to show how a normal phone camera can't see the image a tube is producing. But thanks for enjoying my videos! 😊🤟

It looks like the Asus was recording at 60fps though, it kinda loses a lot of light. The Sony will win any day regardless.

​@@DjAlonDevil If I recall correctly it was 4k24p. Anyhow, I'm not doing a camera comparison. My purpose is to show that people shouldnt trust videos shot on phones since they are not good enough for lowlight videos.
