It's not better, quite curiously it's a carbon copy a far as the turntable goes. Cheapo china turntables today mount that very same tonearm, cartridge, etc as the equivalent plastic junk from the late '80s. They look very much identical!

I believe you were replying to EverythingApplePro Jr, but I was making a joke since the music was so unbelievably fast. However, sadly, KZbin content strikes can come even if you're using a still or even have the music playing from some other source in the background (like if someone in their car has it blaring loud enough when you were recording outside). Yeah, KZbin sucks like that, but honestly, I have seen a LOT of stuff slip by, typically when its by creators with a low amount of subscribers.

Round and round, up and down... I know something that does that 😊 That's what a carousel does! Actually it amazes me that (seems to be) cheap stylus could track the record so well. I hear it starts jumping between grooves when the speed goes up but i was expecting it to fly out the record or break apart in a minute. :)
@tncorgi929 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've done something similar and the stylus never stayed on so well.
@djrobx9 жыл бұрын
+István Nagy Exactly what I was thinking. GIven how unbalanced the record was, I was stunned by how well it tracked along, at least until it got to closer to the center grooves. I would have expected it to just jump out of the grooves and hop all over.
@SouthwesternEagle9 жыл бұрын
It tracked so well because this was a German-made Schneider stereo system.
@summersky779 жыл бұрын
+SouthwesternEagle or maybe just some weight was added to the tone arm? That German-made stereo system was probably made in Taiwan. It doesn't look like anything of high quality that would be made in Germany.
@SouthwesternEagle9 жыл бұрын
ZYC In the late '80s, high-quality plastic was made and in style in various colors. A 1983 cell phone was $2995.00, and it came in beige plastic. But yeah, it could be made in Taiwan.

I think the video was sped up. No way that arm could have kept tracking at that speed.
@bobskie32110 жыл бұрын
That's not uncommon for cheap record player with ceramic cartridge because not only they have a heavier tracking force they also have a lighter tonearm mass (the ability to resist sudden movement). I remember many years ago that I used to play a 45 RPM vinyl without adapter and purposely misaligned it to the extreme that the spindle touches the edge of the large hole of 45 RPM vinyl but the tonearm was able to track the grooves without skipping. Cheap turntables with ceramic cartridge are even more resistant to skipping even if the vinyl have deep scratches.
@wdharvey110 жыл бұрын
bobskie321 I guess...we used to do the same thing with the 45rpm records, but, if the arm got to close to the middle, the auto-return would kick in...

Perfect for high speed duplication! I was hoping to see the turntable platter explode from centrifugal force, but, that didn't happen. I've seen capstan driven, belt driven, and even direct driven turntables, but never a bevel gear driven turntable. This is probably not the choice, for Hi Fi purists, or audiophiles. If there was any way to center the record, so the tone arm didn't move side to side with every rotation of the turntable, it would be fun, to see just how fast the record could be spun, and have the stylus actually track the record grooves. Even off center, it tracked much better, than I would ever have thought.
