Photopea Tutorial: How to Type Text in a Circle! [Great technique for T Shirt design, logos]

Glad it helped! Photoshop and Photopea are so similar in many ways, so you could definitely pick up valid skills by watching some Photoshop content. However Photopea tends to have more shortcomings in comparison, so there is danger of learning a technique or tool that then won't translate. When I first started this channel, it was actually going to cover both Photoshop and Photopea... as I use Photoshop for my day job in a professional capacity, but I still have a big appreciation for Photopea for many reasons.

@@photopeapro Okay that make sense. I just cant afford photoshop, so I had to look into free alternatives. I also have an issue where the blue line of the circle remains even after I've finished editing and adding text. I made sure to select the path option beforehand, and it still wont disappear even after I've added a new layer. Any suggestions??

I've found that you have to add a graphic first if you want to be able to size it and once the shape is in place I can move the graphic but cannot size it. Am i doing something wrong? Do you have a video on editing things in and around a shape?

For some reason path select tool doesn't work for me, I'm unable to click on the side and top dot. Only the one at the bottom works which changes where the text starts and end. I'm trying to rotate the text and it's driving me crazy

Hi, thanks for the comment :) For this thumbnail, I believe I created the curved text first, using the exact same technique as the main tutorial, and then created the ring around it afterwards, using standard Ellipse shapes. Of course you can do it the other way around and create the shape first - but remember, you don't have to curve the text to the main shape itself if you don't want to... you can create the shape first, and then use separate paths to put the curved text on. I hope this makes sense!

Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it. Text on a curve has always been pretty fiddly - even in Photoshop it's no easier than in Photopea. Have a go, and if you are still stuck for how to get the text curved in a ring shape, let me know and i'll see if I can do a separate short video :)

Hi there, the font used in the Video is called 'Chango' and comes with Photopea, so you should be able to access it from the normal font list. I used a different font in the Thumbnail (Can't even remember why to be honest!) but that one is not included in Photopea... but it's called 'Hansief' and you can download it for free from this link: www.dafont.com/hansief.font I hope this helps! 🙂
