Hi! There are no OSCAs in bachelor. It's more practical tasks in labs throughout your semester. So you basically respond practically to the scenarios in labs and then complete a written part at home to submit in 48 hours. This is how it was at USC. Each uni I assume is different.

Hey Yana! I'm a 12th grade passout and I'm planning to pursue the bachelor of nursing science course in UniSC Australia. When I had looked into enrolling for particular courses for Year 1, there was something written as 'Prerequisites' against each of the courses and it was written that I must be enrolled in these prereq courses before I enroll for my introductory and other courses for Year 1. Thank you xxx your video is helping us so much!

That`s a good question! Because you said you want to become a RN in the end, I would recommend to start with Bachelor of Nursing degree right from the start. After completion of your first year of studies (including your first placement in aged care) you will be able to work as AIN or carer, while you are still continuing your degree. This way will save you extra semester (in case if you would go with EN diploma first) and also money. Also, PR can get VET FEE HELP or HECS, same as residents.

Hey Zeinab, (DISCLAIMER - I can only provide info based on my experience as a year 12 in Victoria, 2020) Around July-August, you’ll gain access to your VTAC account. When you add courses onto your preference list within your VTAC account, you can click onto your courses and view the atar requirements of the Universities. University websites can be daunting with their 70-80 atar entry scores. However, from memory the lowest atar scores Universities accepted for a Bachelor of Nursing were as low as 50-55. I know this doesn’t necessarily answer your question about other pathways. But as long as you believe in yourself, study to the best of your abilities & meet the bare minimum atar score + SEAS, you will definitely get an offer for nursing!! :)) - I got an offer & definitely not with a 70 atar!! GOOD LUCK 🤞

Hi Stan! I had my high school completed overseas, so I`m not sure what subjects you guys go through at your year 11. Knowing anatomy and physiology in nursing is very important and comes in hands when you educate your patients. And also to understand the medical history of their conditions. Although, most of it you will be studying during your Diploma course. It`s just when you have some sort of a background knowledge prior to that, it makes it more easier in class. Good luck :)

If depends what you want to do after. If you are planning on continuing to bachelor, then it is a perfect time now to pick a uni and start getting your enrollment process ready. If not, then get yourself familiarised with required documents on AHPRA website for your registration once your course is over. There are also opportunities for post grad programs which run at certain times of the year. Try to google them up. If you are planning on applying for EN positions, then put your resume together. As I remember TAFE can help you with that. Don`t forget to get your references from your facilitators or teachers. Usually facilitators is a better option cause they have observed you during your placements. Good luck :)

subjects are easy or hard in diploma of nursing ? 😅 ..... How many classes will be there in a week ..... ?
@yana.miller4 жыл бұрын
It is hard in terms of assessments, but theory is ok if you do your readings and visit lectures of course. On full-time I had classes 3 days a week, so it was about 3 subjects per day. Or one subject and then 3 hours lab session. But due to covid at the moment, this may be a subject to change.

if i'm studying tafe in queensland ( Diploma in nursing ) , am i eligible to get some sort of exemption on bachelor degree in nursing?
@yana.miller3 жыл бұрын
yes, you will get a number of units as credits (the number will depend on the uni, USC for example gives 8 credits), and you won't need to repeat a first year of your bachelor. Which means you will get a pathway right to second year of your degree.

Hi there! No diploma is not compulsory if you want to become an RN in the end. Yes you can go do bachelor after the high school. But you will need to check the requirements with the uni regarding OP rank, electives etc.

Hi, Are you recommend to study EN first? Why did you choose EN? Some people said it is a waste of time to do it because you need to spend more 6 months finishing the bachelor degree. thanks.
@yana.miller4 жыл бұрын
In terms of time length, yes doing RN after completing EN makes it longer by 6 month. I personally went with EN first cause I was late to enroll to Uni through QTAC, their application dates were closed. But with TAFE I was able to do it directly at the campus of my area. Now I feel grateful that I have completed my EN first, because it has given me extra experience that I couldn`t get in my first year or even second year of uni. Plus I`m able to work as EN while doing my RN, which gives me more credits for future job opportunities.

What educational background is required to study diploma in nursing in Australia?? Am i eligible to study diploma in nursing though i haven't studied biology in my +2level???? Please give proper information 🙏
@yana.miller4 жыл бұрын
I don't think biology would be a problem, but just give them a call to be sure. Mainly they need year 12 here in Australia, and if you had your school overseas, then a prove of English test and then BKSB (literacy and numeracy tests). This is mandatory. If you follow this link and click on "important information", you'll be able to fine everything there: tafeqld.edu.au/courses/17738/diploma-of-nursing I can't speak for all education providers as I only had experience with Tafe.

Hello Yana. May I ask some something regarding the immigration if you know? I final goal is to get the Permanent Residency, and I don't don't know if I should study EN or RN. However, in my opinion, studying RN might make it easier to get a PR than doing EN if I study in regional areas like SA/TAS, and it seems like studying RN gives more possibility to get 190 campared to studying EN which most likely gives me 491, in terms of state sponsorship. Is my opinion correct or not? And do you know if holding EN certificate could also pass the skill/occupation assement as it does with a RN certificate, in terms of employer sponsorship or 189 skilled migrant? Thank you very much!

@yana.miller2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mery! 1. It depends who you wanna be: RN or EN. If RN, then take bachelor degree. And if EN, then choose Diploma. 2. It doesn't matter what area you go to study nursing. Just pick a uni you like and area close to your home. In the end of the day the course is the same everywhere. 3. Yes you can pretty much work in hospitals, GP clinics, aged cares, community centres etc. If English is not your first language, then you'll need to take an English test prior to your studies and then to get your registration. Well, after completing diploma (cause it's only 18 months) you might not need to take another English test, cause it's valid for 2 years.

Hey yana I’m an international student and I wanna study nursing. My ultimate goal is to be an RN but it requires higher marks in IELTS so if I do my diploma first for a year suppose can I directly jump to 2nd year in bachelor later? It would save my time so is it possible?

Hi Riyana, as far as I know you need IELTS for diploma of enrolled nursing as well. It used to be just bksb test, but not any more. Maybe some other states in Australia do not require it for Tafe diploma, but in QLD they sure do.
