Photoreal Mountains in Blender and Unreal Engine!

Making photoreal Mountains in Blender is surprisingly easy and 100% free!
While this method might not work in 100% of all cases, it's still worth exploring. Not only does it look more realistic than most assets you can find on the Unreal Marketplace, it's also 100% free and super easy to set up.
Just make sure you have the rights to the textures you are using. I recommend looking for good photos of mountains on unsplash.com and pexels.com.

Hell yeah, production quality mountains with Ian Hubert levels of effort! The example scene is beautiful too, good work. Biggest suggestion I'd make is using something like the built in erosion tools from ANT, or a simple mesh from a terrain generation software like World Creator or Gaea, to just add a bit more natural flow and distortion on the mesh.

Or you could just open quixel in unreal and pick out some mountains that already have materials thus skipping the entire blender step.

Show me a mountain from Quixel with a texture like this 😃 But yes, Megascans are really good and they even have a few terrain meshes. Just haven’t found any real mountains yet.
