Photoshop AI Beta generative fill examples for wedding photography

Excellent examples of wedding pictures: Tip 1: You had your pictures locked which created a white background when you extended the pictures. Try unlocking the picture and you will see a transparent background. This tends to work better for some reason. Tip 2: Since it is in beta, it will only generate a 1020 resolution file for each generation regardless of how big the picture is. The bigger the selection the lower the resulting resolution. You basically did separate sections which is what you should do but you should have done smaller sections for greater resolution. Tip 3: When you use the lasso tool, make sure that you draw a selection that matches the size and shape of what you are wanting to get rid of or create otherwise you may wind up with distorted objects. I did find your video very helpful and insightful.

Im having a lot of fun working with this tool. People are difficult to capture and it screws up fingers and toes...I work mostly in my somewhat smallish studio and its great to extend the floor for full length shots and get rid of equipment in background. I use to composite the old way and the biggest advantage with that was refining hair etc so the person doesnt look like a hardedge cutout...I like some of the background replacements which give a little variety to my mostly shooting in my studio on grey and black backgrounds...I shoot with a theatrical look so feel no guilt with occassional background replacements... I give GF about a 50% success rate. Im shooting half of my work with no manipulation and some with GF...the best of both worlds. It all boils down to taste and judgement...thanks for video! I love to see how others are responding to AI. !

when you type remove person the AI just read the word person and add one, when you want to remove anything just don't write anything keep it empty.

if you want to remove something select the object or a person then just don't type anything (leave it blank) then click generate - this is how it works OR you can use new Remove tool which is also good for faster result....

1024 pixel limit in the beta. It would be hard to generate detailed people. It will get more robust over time. I totally agree with you that Gen fill should have a limited use in Weddings because those photos should be correct memories for the bride and groom.

'Violating user guidelines' - I think (but I'm not sure) that it's referring to the fact that Adobe doesn't allow this for commercial work (maybe because it's in beta.) But yeah, if you type in a command it the message usually goes away. Another great video!

No the violate user guidelines is that one of the 3 generated images contains something that Adobe sees as inappropriate. Could be a knife, gun, adult content or whatever. It could obviously also be a bug, but in general those are the things that will bring up this message.

Great video Sam, I had a play around with it Monday but I found it very weird some of the stuff it can do blew my mind but then some of it was just weird, like the people thing. Why put people in if you asked it to take away. I had some images I took in the studio a few months back of the props I use baskets for newborns etc different lighting stuff and added kittens and puppies in - well amazingly good. I also had a shot of a bride and groom playing garden games and the top of the groom's head was cut off because he jumped up as I took the shot and it put it in a treat. I am the same as you I will use it to remove stuff I just don't have the time to remove and that is it

Yep, same, it's a godsend for some situations, but not for creating or changing the actual context of the frame.

also, to remove objects and / or people, you just have to select and not type in anything, just generate with blank prompt

Putting in a full stop (period) instead of blank sometimes stops the violation message

What happens if you say "replace with trees" instead of remove person? Or are there only specific prompts you can give it? I am the person who has been living under a rock when it comes to Photoshop Beta. Although, I knew this was coming. It was fun watching this. Scary and fun stuff

Simple trick to bypass guidelines error. Type dot in prompt and generate. This will avoid annoying error. Also if you want to type some words type dot at the very end of word or sentence. I would tell more possibilities to trick it.. interesting 18+ results coming out.. )))

AI is a long way from adding the real people and real spaces of events like weddings. No couples wants a random Karen (or 10) adding into their confetti shot. The only one of these I actually think really worked completely was the bottom half of the sunset couple shot. I think there is a place for AI in cleaning up images but I think wedding photography requires a level of realism and authenticity that other photography (such as commercial product photography) does not. Interesting video though 👍🏼

Lots already view all and any Adobe tools as fake. Photoshop tools are great for photography art.

Hello Sam, Dude, you keep trying to get rid of a person, etc. by telling AI to 'remove person'. Actually, you don't need to tell it to 'remove the person, just leave the command blank and let it do its job without filling that in. Best, Dan

Thanks Dan, yeah, figured that out after filming, but in all fairness, even a blank command didn't always remove the person correctly, it would still replace them with a cartoon character. But still, it's mighty impressive on the whole!
