GREAT tutorial! First one I have seen that DOESN'T 1) ramble all over the place--from the weather to the latest sports statistics; 2) go too fast; 3) go too slow: 4) fail to use the cursor appropriately so we can see where all the selections are to be made; 5) include too much in the first tutorial; and 6) that ISN"T unintelligible because the narrator pays no attention to diction or is not a fluent English speaker. Thank you. I will watch this one til it's etched in my brain and then go to your next one. A+!

GREAT tutorial! Thanks so much for this. I'm an author and I want to begin making book covers for Amazon. I would LOVE to see a tutorial on how to use the rulers to make the spine of a book, the front and back cover and basically how to wrap the whole image. I'm a beginner, so you don't have to go into crazy detail, but just some steps to start me on my way would be awesome. Thanks again :)

I'm trying to create a patterned digital alphabet (each letter will be filled with a pattern) each in a separate file. So I will have a capital and lowercase A in one pattern, continued for the whole alphabet. Then I will have the alphabet in another pattern. I know how to make each letter a pattern with the Type Mask Tool but I'm wondering if I'm doing it the easiest way because it seems to be taking forever. I don't know the best method of creating the same Type Mask in different patterns.

Great tutorial! My problem is that when I have my first layer, I add another to draw over. But when I Lowe the opacity of the first layer, I get this checkerboard pattern. How do I lower the opacity of my first layer but get rid of the checkerboard pattern?
@HTGGeorge9 жыл бұрын
+jennifer sanchez Hi, the Checkerboard pattern is simply the symbol that Photoshop uses to show transparency. You can ignore it, the checkerboard pattern will not show up in your final printed or saved piece. If you really don't like the checkerboard pattern transparency indicator you can change it by going to Edit/Preferences (at the bottom of the Edit menu), Transparency and Gamut. In the first drop down list under Transparency Settings set Grid Size to None. But my recommendation is to leave the checkerboard there as it is a useful tool to gauge how much transparency has been applied.

PLEASE HELP! For some reason I am trying to draw a rectangle as a new layer but it just goes directly into the "Background" layer so then I can not make adjustment just to the rectangle. And if I try to move it, the whole background moves with it too?!?! I'm think I must have accidentally clicked on something that doesn't create a new layer. FYI when I try to write text it adds the new layer perfectly.... Im just having issues with the shapes tools like rectangles, circles and lines...when I draw them the new layer does not appear in my layers window.

Dear Sir: You already start with layers in place. Though you carefully explain what layers are...you fail to explain how they come to exist and how they can be combined into a single picture. Still, thank you for sharing. Cheers, Dave.

@gcuneo7 жыл бұрын
DEEP BREATH PEOPLE! Wanna add another layer? Just add anything to your image, the new layer is created automatically when whatever is added. Wanna reorder your layers? Look on the right side and you will see all the layer thumbnails. Just click, hold and drag the layer up or down. Wanna hide a layer? Click on the little eyeball next to that layers thumbnail.
