Regarding Smart Objects and Pattern Preview - I have recently been experimenting with the Pattern Stamp Tool and brush settings for getting a different form of colour mixing with brushes. When I do this, the Pattern Preview does not handle it well, it breaks up at the edges of the tile. But if instead I paint a section using the Pattern Stamp Tool within the tile and convert it to a Smart Object, I can then move it around as I like and it repeats perfectly even if placed over the edge of the tile. I can then fill in the middle of the tile as I like without having to create Smart Objects. But the Brush Tool seems to work wonderfully in Pattern Preview without any Smart Objects required. Fantastic feature! 😍

Just shown this to my partner who said you should design some "wallpaper" and then explained how much of a guru or design evangelist you were. I thought this was great fun and a welcome break from the painting and brush set up and thanks for taking time out and showing this to us all. I was messing around earlier with her as she always comes in and says what are you painting and as a joke I said I have just completed a "jackson pollock" and she said 'you' should sell it!! No way I laughed it took about 10 seconds and we both remember owing to our age profile going to home expo years ago when some guy pre tech etc was using a spining disk thingy in a large biscuit tin and spraying paint in and creating pollock look - a - likes at an Ideal Home exposition in Olympia UK in the late 1960s or 70s . NO wonder the pro artists are getting upset about AI digital painting (me joking to her) and I had to explain to her that normal digital painting is no AI production number. In the end I gave up and said I had to get on with my tutorials courtesy of KT!!!.
