@@kyletwebster How do you get your scattering effect in the spacing options on the splatter brushes? I'm trying to paint random glitter style effects with multiple shapes in multiple sizes and opacities.

@@archades54 In the Brush Settings panel, play with brush spacing, scattering, and size jitter - between those three options, you should be able to arrive at what you are looking for.

@@kyletwebster Thanks heaps. Is there a way to do density higher in the center and lower on the outside? I See a sparkle glow effect trail where the edges are darker, the inner part is lighter. Or it might be they are using a second brush to modify the blend mode of the layer to get the darkening edges. Glitter Glow trails usually shows it on google image search and I can't figure out how they are doing it.

Excellent overview of the mechanics of digital brushes. I resisted digital painting until Fresco. Now I have started to use it to generate ideas for my traditional painting work. I don't believe digital brushes are as intuitive as traditional media. Understanding the settings has been a real challenge for me to get the brushes to behave as I want them to. Your videos help me enormously. Thank you!!

I have CC subscription, and the only Textures in my drop down menu are Trees/ Grass and Water. I can't see the options he has. I searched Google, but there is absolutely no mention of this Brush Texture settings anywhere and how to get the default options. There is no info on how to add Textures here. Can someone pls help? I think this is one of the most important brush settings to get a canvas type of texture look. Thanks.

Very cool, I used to use 'Painter' when it first came out, now that dates me 🤫it dose all this for you and even down to the angle of tilt in the easel you have so it understands how paint drips down with gravity, it introduced all this prior to PhotShop and then PhotoShop started with all the brushes, I also imported into the UK the very first Wacom tablet, see I am a really old fart.

Please Help! Kyle is awesome. Great class. I appreciate having an expert on PS brushes teaching on the topic. He knows how to teach too. I did find a couple items did not work as I followed along... Like using 'clear' as an eraser. Why is it blocked out on my PS for using the same splish splash variant brush Mr. Kyle Webster used? I tried it earlier, on another brush & it worked? Now, I check, & clear brush mode is consistently blocked out for every brush I check. I am in RGB 8 bit). I would love to use this function/ not sure why it didn't work???? ...(Less concerning, but also a discrepancy: For the background/ foreground color dynamics jitter, I did not get light pressure to go all the way to show blue like Kyle... i just got a grayed purplish color, not as much of the background color). Thanks for the video!

I hope someone can help me with one part I am confused about. Around 36.50 minutes he paints with an orangish color and then picks up another color to paint over it but his color swatch at the top did not change to the new color and his strokes 'graze over' the surface. When I attempt this my mixer brush color changes and my strokes take over the color entirely. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

This is all great but i don't get why when i make my own mixer brush using the exact settings he's using it behaves totally differently. I used my own brush tip and texture but otherwise set my mixer brush to the same settings and it mixes literally not at all while his is mixing the color. All i end up with is a normal brush that lags the crap out of my pc despite 32 gigs of ram. This keeps happening with mixer brush tutorials and that's sorta made me stay away from it cuz i just can't seem to get it to behave even close to what any tutorial or explanation vid shows.

@@goldendeagle1914 I've tried everything, sampling, not sampling, you name it. I finally sat down for a day or two and made my own mixer brushes with totally different settings and have managed to get some that seem to behave how ones other painters demo do.
