I'm so thankful for this resource, but I cannot figure out how to use it. I seem to load the brush correctly, but when I paint it doesn't look like this. Mine is just a repetition of the original shape and not blended to look like icing. I paint on a new layer, have load brush checked, have sample all layers unchecked. I wish I could get it to work.

I was having the same problem and realised that in my brush settings the spacing was set to 5%, so I turned this down to 1% and it solved it :)

Hello. I'm facing a problem where whenever I press the alt key to sample a texture, it brings up the color picker tool instead and it samples the one color instead. Do you know to fix this?

Hi there, in the top menu, click the drop-down menu next to the "reservoir" where you preview your pattern. Uncheck "load solid colors only" Hope this helps!

when i try to sample it, the space turns into the color dropper, and i can only select the color. what am I doing wrong?

There is a drop-down arrow next to the reservoir (the swatch at the top of the screen) make sure that "Load Brush" is selected and NOT "Load Solid Colors Only" try this and let me know if it helps.

No matter what I do, I can't make it sample anything, on purpose. I have, occasionally, gotten it to happen on accident. Watching the video AGAIN, but having difficulty figuring it out.

I think that I may have figured it out. I was trying to do stuff on the shape layer which isn't rasterized, instead of the blank layer.

I'm glad you were able to figure it out 😀 Yes, the sample has to be a raster image. also, a lot of people have trouble with the reservoir (the swatch area) there is a little drop down next to it, make sure its on "Load Brush" and not "Load solid colors only" also if "sample all layers" is checked it can cause problems as well.

@@PrettyWebzMedia I thought that had something to do with it. While still on the wrong layer, I kept hitting that option and nothing would happen!!! But, apparently, I finally did it on the correct layer! Ta Da!!! Thank you!
