Gavin it's interesting to point out the reflection in the water perfectly mirrors what the final result is. Making it much more convincing. Great stuff love your videos.

Master Gavin, Another excellent tutorial. One question; Can the same tool be use to stick a panoram. I have several shot taken on a tripod in portrait and need to stick. Trying to figure this out.

Gavin, how do you meter for the sky? Usually i just use my live view, and set the focus bar on the sky but is there any other more efficient way?
@shanetralee13 жыл бұрын
Hi Gavin, how did you meter for the4 sky and foreground seperatly? did you use spot metering.....
@anthonyT0111 жыл бұрын
If you're shooting in manual you can usually see the changes to your picture as you adjust iso, shutter speed, and aperture. So you could just make your adjustments until your image has a proper exposure for your sky :) You've probably figured it out by now but hopefully this helps anyone else with a similar question.

if you put those 2 images into HDR pro in photoshop, how wouyld the result be, not any better?

I use enfuse, or photomatix exposure blend, it does the same thing in seconds with less to no ghosting.

hello there, I followed all the steps but when I try to paint over the sky after creating the layer mask my brush tool paints the sky pink ( or a reddish color ), I selected black as my foreground color...what is going on ??
@domeee1111 жыл бұрын
So we should only meter for the sky and don't care about the foreground?

there is a technique called something like the rule of f/16 Basically it means that if it's a sunny day you set your ISO to 100, shutter speed to 100/s and aperture f/16 and that could be a starting point. If you need faster shutter speed you can multiply it by the same nuber that you divide the aperture after that. It would mean that setting twice the shutter speed (200/s) you would set half the aperture number (f/8) I am not sure whether this is clear enough, not a native English speaker

true, but here there are only 2 images the HDR software can use. u wont have many shades of exposure to make it seem unnatural. I guess we would have to try and see the result. or gavin can do that for us :)

Most likely, they would look unnatural. Most folks tend to over do HDR. When doing HDR, it should be to what your eye actually saw, I mean that is the reason for doing HDR in the first place. :)
