I am trying to use the smart radius and remove more of the background through the trees as shown in this video. However on my end the red is being removed and replaced with the original sky. I tried to click select & mask but it unfortunately continues to bring me to a different page. I tried several times and went back into the video to see if I missed anything. Im not sure why it won't take me to the right page. I have the PS cc 2017 version, can you tell me how to do it on the new version?

everything works up until i go to Render Clouds and the cloud render shows up in the lower half of my image instead of the sky instead of where it should be. I did an inverse on the mask before making a duplicate layer...what is going wrong??? Aaaaugh! please help!

If both layer masks in the Layers panel are white on top and black on the bottom, the clouds should appear on the top.

thanks for the quick reply!! yes the masks are Wht on top Blk on bottom- in earlier vers of ps making clouds prior to pscc I did color range but in pscc the blk/wht selection just stays gray and does not allow for making color changes in the color picker-
