Photoshop Tutorial: Photo to Sketch in Seconds! -HD-

I don't mean to come off as rude, but the pause button works wonders in this situation! I watch all sorts of tutorials for all sorts of programs, including photoshop. When it goes a bit too fast, i follow a long step by step, pausing after each step is explained in order to do it on my own and keep up.

Makes it far easier to draw from. Its easy to get distracted by the contrast of colors and shadows when you are drawing from a photo. Nice tutorial. Thanks =D

I've tried these steps and have the same problem as mixx9876. I have Elements 8.0 and can not find desaturation under Image>Adjustments. When I simply convert it to black and white, I don't get a white screen, its is colored. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong.

right click on the layer: Dublicate Layer. Faster by a few milliseconds and you're less reliable to drag the layer to the wrong icon.

this method works finde for bright pictures. unfortunately with darker shades you don't get very good, clear lines. :( your paris courtyard looks damn good though. :)
