I'm glad you got that situation under control Paul. Have you seen how many stars are going to be signing at the National? I was amazed with that huge list of big names! It looks like it's going to be a great show! I love it when you talk about your uncle and you starting the hobby. I thought my Uncle Jerry and I were the ones that started it. Lol (He was born in the 40s, collected in the 50s and 60s up to now) I used to go regularly to my uncle's house and trade baseball cards, and play Statis Pro Baseball. That's where I got a few big players cards, at least to me, Bob Feller, and Rocky Colavito. I started in the 80s, but I'm about 2 years younger than you, and I came back to it after getting out of the Navy and not collecting for about 30 years. Keep them stories coming, because I love the history of sports, and how that history can be told through collecting. Well, have a good weekend, my friend! Keep on dancing too!

Your statements about when collecting started....you're absolutely correct. Started in the 50's and then serious collecting began in the 70's...much like comic books....

Great video today. Dancing Sheriff is right. Some of Us older folks remember the convenience store shelves, with clear plastic with cards; all for just maybe .25 Cents. They were pretty simple, made from cellulose paper, with printed pictures of a given player, and some cared and some didn't. Me? I could care less back in the late 70s and 80s.. Instead, Comic Books were the collectible things to buy.., and so We did. Later.., years later, I was running across boxes and trays of those same cards, just a few years before I developed an interest and began buying them. Thing is: As time passed, the cards themselves gave me something I could actually afford to do, and because I was trained by a Master Collector, I became quite good in my knowledge of The Hobby. Today, when I see people of all ages buying cards right off the shelves, something seems just a bit off, for Nothing in terms of Skill and Knowledge is really needed. Instead, they often just buy small blaster and hobby boxes, and have come to EXPECT a special or an Autograph Card, and that is just sad, seeing as these companies diminished the importance of a player's autograph. Instead, from what I'm seeing, hobbyists are almost in tears when autograph cards don't show up in every box, lol. Today, because of newer methods and practices, getting great cards is clearly a formula. The odds and info; all printed on the side, with almost every card having crisp centering, sharp corners, and the like. But, there's Nothing like coming across a good card, and picking it up for a low price. The trick however, is Knowing what Good Is .. Thanks for the video today! 🤠✌️❤❤❤

If someone is getting bullied I think the best thing to do is ignore them. If you let the bully know they're bothering you, that will make them do it more

There’s room for everyone in the hobby. However, if you are not a collector, but an investor, then you are probably in the wrong business. As kids we handled the cards, and memorized the stats on the back. We had no conception of the grade of a card, or if it was short printed, but if it captured a coloured image of our hero(s) it was priceless to us. We can make this hobby pure again.

@@vintagesportsshack its that hobby positivity crowd. they all tried to band together to defend Ty Wilson and chasing cardboard when i called him out for reselling the Rock auto, after he had been told it wasnt real (by beckett). meanwhile none of them could defend Ty acting like it was all my fault, and the lies that he got caught up in. if theyre blind to that, let the sheep get slaughtered lol.
