What a great rivalry this would've been. I know the front office of the 9ers didn't like Jim but the product he put on the field with Kap was very successful. I would've put aside my pride for the success of the team. They turned it around and eventually got Jimmy G and Shannahan but that 2012-2013 window was great, especially with the defensive stars they had (Patrick Willis, Aldon Smith, Navarro Bowman) Seahawks were also just scratching the surface of their potential dynasty but because of a redzone pass, they missed out on the LOB window too. 2013 was a great year in the NFL. Thanks for bringing it back, Throwback

Ignoring Colin Kaepernick's politics, it really was unfortunate what happened to him. He was never the best at making reads, and certainly wasn't the most accurate, but you could tell the dude had a lot of confidence throwing the football, and when the 49ers needed him to step up, he could certainly do it. I think his drop in production had a lot to do with Jim Harbaugh's not so smooth departure at the end of a pretty mediocre 2014 season. The 49ers weren't even all that bad (they finished 8-8 while dealing with _a lot_ of injuries), but losing Harbaugh definitely hurt, and I think that's where he really fell off. Whether or not he currently deserves to be in the league, I can't really say and I don't really care to discuss, but when he was at his peak, man, he was a joy to watch.

People get so caught up in their total disagreement of Kaepernick's protests that they forget that he was a solid QB for a fair period of time. I don't deny that he fell off, but the way some people talk about him, you would never expect that he was arguably a missed holding call away from winning a Super Bowl.
