God Bless you Dr. Omalu. What you have achieved is indeed epochal.. Having the NFL, AMA and other powerful interests in the US accept the Truth of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) must have been one heck of an uphill battle for you. . But in the end, you prevailed, thru the Grace of God. I wish you greater success.

Man I saw the movie right now, I wanna read this book, can you tell me anything about his book?? What do you like about it??
@miltonwilliams395 жыл бұрын
@@lucasnascimento7242 What I like about this book is that it reveals the truth about football and how dangerous it could be because of multiple head collisions through the years. The helmet does not protect the brain, however, it does protect the skull from being split open. But our brain is an vital organ thats apart of our body and if you get to many concussions you can develop CTE. You can also look up how many Football players has died from CTE. Its worse when kids start to play at an early age but some parents are not educated on this information. I played football growing up as a kid but im blessed to not have CTE because I did not suffer with too blow shots to the head or suffered any concussions, but if a player remain playing, especially at an NFL level, they are mostly likely develop CTE overtime which results in behavior problems, mood swings, depression and dementia. Football is not the only sport, it also boxing, rugby, soccer, or hockey. pretty much any sport that results in too much head trauma. I would not tell anyone not play the game, just be aware of the risk because I play two hand touch football, not tackle! The top safest sports are tennis, swimming, baseball or basketball because you do not get multiple head shots to the brain. I hope the information I presented to you was good enough thanks.

When I saw the movie "#Concussion", which was an adaptation of the life of Bennet and his struggles to bring the dangers of CTE on American Football players to public consciousness, I knew right away that he was on to something really big and that after all the political maneuvering by the football association has simmered down, the world would come to its senses and acknowledge his contributions, I am glad they did with this well deserved award. I would equally say a big thank you to #WillSmith, for accepting to take the role in the movie and using his celebrity status to shine a big light on CTE, because quite frankly Bennet's publications in medical journals might just have stayed buried in there. Finally, a big congratulations to all the #socialnnovators out there, keep up the good fight, disrupt an industry with your ideas if you must, and though they would fight back, if your idea stays true to its vision of contributing to humanity, it would prevail and regardless of your #color or #creed the world would eventually be forced to take notice.

Seen as the bad guy for some NFL fans I see Dr Omalu as a real hero. This year only two HS football players died. last year 16 HS footballo players died. No kid should die playing any youth sport.

Just saw the movie, Concussion. I wish ALL doctors, who knew it was something but didn't know what it was that caused a certain something to happen. Had the Drive & Determination to not just Let It Go OR Stop! because they were bullied. Or feared threats that came their way. Took short cuts in order to save money Or it's used on the deceased!, What the heck can happen to them they're already dead. And you Know that you Know that YOU KNOW!!!. U Want the Answers!!. LOVE IT❣. Great Principles, Good Man................ DR. Omalu❣❣🤗🥰😍🤩 YOU MATTER!🙏

What a fantastic acceptance speech! So inspirational! Contact sport can cause severe brain damage. The more frequent the brain trauma, the more likely you’ll get it. Boxing. American football. Wrestling. Mixed martial arts. And so on. Anyone going in to those sports have to be warned about the facts. These sports have a duty to protect the participants as much as possible and look after them post career. Thanks to this doctor maybe they will.

God has honored Dr. Bennett for his integrity and commitment without compromising, this was and is all apart of God's plan to show us that Truth will always overpower, outweigh our selfishness, arrogance has Americans we all have chosen to ignore the lives that where lost because our love for football and our obsession with reason is alluring us to fail to see that reality, facts will always be more important than pleasure and happiness, not everything that seems good is all good, never choose a lie and pleasure over your health, life and family Truth aka Jesus Christ is our only source that will save us from more damage and devastation as Americans
