@@rebelraccoon9018 The whole civilizations exists in the way that it does because this "ancient old book" introduced the idea of moral dualism. Not to mention it described various scientific truths (such as evolution from water to land, for example, or the existence of microbes), before any semblance of scientific proof for these came about. You may not like the specific faith (or any kind of religion) but to assume that just because it's old, it's wrong, or untrustworthy is plainly a false assumption. Math is based on axioms older than the Bible, and no one calls math "ancient", or describes its postulates as "hardly good". For example. You and I can interchange comments thanks to that centuries old math, and 0s and 1s. It's also worth mentioning that the advice Dr. Barnard gives is pretty much the same The Book, spoken of here, gives too, so whomever we listen here, we're hardly to go wrong. Hope you have a wonderful day.

@@miloradvlaovic I didn't assume it was wrong because it is old it just happens to be old. The Bible is full of inconsistencies and inaccuracies for it to be reliable. Math on the other hand is logical a universal language and scientifically useful.

just because most vegans are less likely to smoke and drink alcohol and eat less processed food doesn't mean that vegan diets are Heather at all the fact that pesco-vegetarians had the lowest hazard ratio for all-cause mortality in the Adventist Health Study 2 despite pollution? I can see the ecological and other ethical problems with eating seafood, but doesn't epidemiology contradict the claim that a vegan diet is healthier than a pescovegetarian diet? I don't think I know better, it's just that I see some contradiction here. Thanks for your reply. This study on vegans' use of saying vegan being Heather than meat-eater has clearly shown the opposite true with the fish-eater this doesn't mean vegan diets are unhealthy but not optimal as whole food plants based with some fish since this diet provides all the nutrients from plants and B12 DHA and more biologically available vitamins A and D, therefore, non-vegan diets can be slightly Heather than WFPBD Not all vegans eat this diet vegans do eat refined carbs also added vegetable oils are and mock meats are not correct to say that vegans are automatically Heather because their diet is vegan

For example, some are saying no oils such as Olive Oil, some say Olive Oil is Good for you, some say eat Legumes and some say they’re bad for you, some say Grains are good for you and some say don’t eat Grains. I have changed my diet beginning a couple of years ago. I don’t eat Dairy, Little or no meat. One Doctor says don’t eat Night Shades such as Tomatoes and Peppers! I had been eating them in my Salad! I don’t drink sodas. One Doctor says don’t eat any type of Rice and one says eat Brown Rice and Quinoa. I don’t know what is best or who to follow. They seem or say they have patient Research to support their recommendations. My GP and Integrative Docs are not on the same page either so I’ve been trying to educate myself and take Responsibility for my Health! HELP PLEASE!!

I am not in keto,(never was). But these vegan doctors talk bullshits. The healthiest people of the planet are the Masais, carnivores, their saturated fats intake consists of 54% of their total diet. They even don't have decay .Why are the healthiest?Because they don't eat refined carbs, and fructose. And someone has to remind these "doctors "that a human body produces 3000mg of LDL daily, which is equivalent of 12 whole large eggs.If LDL was so bad,it wouldn't be produced by our own body. And also, romeone has to tell to these "doctors" of this channel that LDL is essential for the production of testosterone and estrogen in the human body. And someone also has to tell to these "doctors " that the PH of the stomach enzymes of all herbivores is >6.A lion's gastric PH is 2.5 A humans' is 1.7 .So,we are designed by nature to eat meat,as well.

For the person who asked about cooking curry with coconut oil, you do not need coconut oil for cooking with curry. The only problem is for curry you need some type of oil or butter.

Lololol. Just crazy logic by some "doctor". Insulin receptor isnt blocked at all. The mechanism of insulin resistance is that by constantly consuming too much carb and frequently eating, insulin is elevated most of the time and it causes your cell in the end to reject insulin. It is so much simplified actually. The real explanation can be found in Dr Jason Fung's, Dr Ekberg's and Dr Berg's channels

@@monokumannius4522 you mean sugar. Refined sugar. Not all carbs are bad most carbs are ok. It is the fat that causes insulin resistance.

Does Dr. Barnard talk about triglycerides, cell glycation, insulin resistance and weight gain from a plant based carbohydrate diet? Humans are able to metabolize saturated fats without the need of insulin. I read alot of articles that stress the ratio of triglycerides/ HDL is the new cornerstone of determining risk for cardio-vascular disease. I wouldn't jump on either bandwagon just yet.

Hi Dr. Barnard I have a question? I consumed soy products for many years. But developed many health issues such as uterine fibroids and breast nodules I understand soy is high in estrogen levels. I feel that soy might not be safe for everyone. I use to swear by it like I said ate it for many years but had to stop.,what could you tell me? I use to enjoy it. I’m older now but don’t dare to eat anything that contains soy in it . I have eliminated any product that has any form of soy ingredient in it. Would like to know your opinion on this matter.

I am sorry but irritated by your question about bmi - assuming that you have a certain motivation/background turning plant based for health reasons. You are underweight but not a problem related to plant foods per de. You just have to adapt to more calorie dense food like beans , starches (potatoes, pasta, rice) nuts/seeds, tahini to gain weight and proper, energy fueling nutrition.
