Software engineer here : you can't use AI or machine learning for things you fundamentally don't understand since you've got to annotate the model for the algorithm to know what is valid/correct. I don't know what quantum machine learning is, but quantum isn't magic; it just solves certain kinds of problems quickly and then a regular computer can validate the result (it's faster to validate than find solutions - this is how async cryptography works). I can't tell if he's just throwing words at the wall, but I don't see how AI, ML or quantum gets him any further in his quest. If anyone can connect some dots I'm not seeing, please do enlighten me. I'm half curious.

This guy just earned his degree in 2022 in applied mathematics. It shows that he’s not a physicist and he appears to overestimate his understanding of physics concepts. Having watched a number of these clips, he gets a lot of things fundamentally wrong about black holes, thermodynamics, quantum theory, and more.

Makes me happy to see people not just blindly accept things said because it’s on a popular podcast. It genuinely depresses me how many “physics” KZbin channels there are that are flat out wrong or give misinformation and people just eat it up and believe everything. Don’t even get me started on all the alien/ufo videos.

I don’t know why it affected me as such but seeing L Susskind’s proof that adding a single photon (wavelength less that the BH radius) to a black hole increases it’s surface area by one square Planck unit led me to a lot of thinking and inquiry. It seems so fundamental and profound in how it may lead to new ways of thinking about the structure of the universe.

Interesting topic. Interesting thought- Can you imagine going through a black hole at light speed (I know, but it’s a hypothetical with a point) only to find out it wasn’t there and everything we visually detected at it’s event horizon and measurements of it’s gravitational pull, were all the information of that last fraction of time it became a black hole, just frozen in time to us in time dilation as the observers; and every time it got bigger, it time travelled and updated that last fraction of the second as if that was its size to begin with.

The black hole itself (where the mass is) is the singularity on the inside, therefore all the space between the center and the event horizon still exist, but its an area where we cant see anything there or what would be behind as as all the information converges to the singularity, and everything that gets to the event horizon from the outside perspective it is as if time stops, but from the viewer going through they'd experience the pull from the singularity (we just dont know what's beyond the event horizon)

Everybody talks like they know so much about black holes. Black holes are today's edge of the sea. Just like nobody actually fell off the edge of the world, eventually we will find that black holes don't "destroy" what goes inside, it just goes somewhere else. Whenever there is lack of data, folks always build an assumption where that lack of data shapes the universe. Better to just admit, yeah, this part we have no clue about so i could pull a thought from my a$s or you a thought from your a$s, either are possibly true lol

Mind blown. I have been in Kenya for the last 4 months and the gulf btw cognitive evolution btw nations is incomprehensible. Yet, homo sapiens must find a way forward together. I travelled to Conrad's most horrifying images of Africa and have lost faith in mankind. I know there is a God and I call to Christ, but the Eacc movement gives a name to that which I always thought was our purpose. To me all God's lead to the same place- I simply choose my totem and follow as best I can his teaching and seek truth. I ask Christ to help us achieve the goals of Eaac but also for my own selfish prosperity. Anyway surely thank Christ for people like Lex and Guillaume Verdon or whoever share this vision. But I fear our ascension up the K scale must be preceded by another bloodbath globally since we are seeing the death throes of 2 corrupt empires in Russia and China. God help all humanity and let us realize our potential or go gently into that good night.
