sir if a photon of high energy than work function gives energy to a e- it may be possible that the e- collides with another e- and gives sufficient amount of energy such that both e- come out of surface... Will the another e- be counted in quantum efficiency???

Sir can quantum efficiency be greater than 1,suppose we are providing a very high frequency light to a metal surface whose work function is very low ,leading to very high kinetic energy of the emitted electron which eventually results into emission of multiple electrons due to collision and transfer of kinetic energy as the kinetic energy of the initial electron is really high

Sir, as you stated, any photon may give energy to an electron and the energy may be transferred to other electrons in internal collision. Can the energy transferred due to internal collision be sufficient for other electron to eject out of metal surface? Will that electron be called as photoelectron and be counted in quantum efficiency? Since it did not directly absord any photonic radiation?? Please respond 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

sir that means quantum efficiency of metal depends on frequency na??? bcoz if frequency is increase then energy of photon will also increase ,, so more no. of electrons may come out,so quantum efficiency may increase???

Sir what will it happen if we give hv = work function? Will the electron come out. And is it theoratically possible, because after coming out it would have 0 Energy according to Energy conservation??

Yes electron will just eject from metal but K.E. will be zero
