These are outdated notes for Simple Harmonic oscillator....Mam do it in very simple way by putting all the constants equal unity....and then use dimensional analysis to find dependence. The constants makes all the headaches for its solution...so why not remove the constants and use a special unit accordingly.

We guess these solutions, they are standard second degree differential equations and have standard solutions, u can derive it systematically but it is complicated and lengthy, u can refer to any second order differential equation book , there u can get this, although i have a lot of problem with the way she represented the solution, a lot of discrepancy in it, including asymptomatic meaning, and multiplication of f(x)
