When I was doing ortho as a student at UCT, I hated doing these videos and thought they were a waste of time. This one was really well done and here I am, in my second year on internship, watching this video to help me in my ortho rotation. Well done to these students!

Thank you! I had few injuries so my dorsiflexors are weak on one side. How could I fix my step stereotype in parallel to strength training?

I walk so weirdly since I was 12 years old and now I'm 15 ...it ruining my life and It gave me social anxiety and depression. I may not survive highschool and I will probably commit suicide soon. My parents don't understand me they don't even understand what anxiety or depression is. I don't have any friend and I'm not that brave to seek help from anyone. I noticed that my legs won't get straight when I stand up, walking or running. I have been doing a lot of exercise but it is still not working. I'm not disable, there is no injuries or any accident that happened in the past. I'm the only person who walk weirdly in my family. Please help me tell me the answer. My depression gets worst over time and it affecting my daily life.

Hello. Have you talked with your parents to visit a physical therapist for your legs? Even if they don't get better, walk up with your chin up high, don´t let it stop you! Also, for your depression and anxiety I would suggest you to talk about it more with your parents and also visit a psychologist. www.7cups.com/depression-help-online/ Here they have chat rooms where you can talk and share your struggles to a person who is listening. Good luck!

Charlie Rex young man... you are so young. You have much more to see and experience, so much farther to go. My father left when I was 13, moved away right before high school.. leaving me with awful social anxiety, and a funny walk. I wasnt sure why the walk developed.. perhaps defensive; but I have been to chiropractors and physical therapists throughout my life, and no one ever mentioned anything. In fact, my chiropractor asked ME why my hips were off. This is top notch physiology here, and the doctors I went too weren't trained to look at those things, as unfair and counter intuitive as it is. I recommend yoga, or other movement routines. Targeting my psoas muscle has been great, and I recommend you get out on the floor, spread out and just move around. You're 15, and you dont know your body yet. You're still growing, still expanding. Now, I recommend yoga for 2 reasons. 1. My symptoms took form after a traumatic experience. The neurophysiological connection between stress, anxiety, and depression, all onset through life experiences, is greater than most will ever understand. If you're brain is telling you there is something wrong, your body will reflect that over time. Yoga helps mend those connections between your brain and your body. That's the best way I can put it. 2. It's easy to access KZbin yoga videos. Also, if you're concerned with what people think of you doing yoga, I'm 23 and have played hockey my entire life. This is the greatest thing ove ever discovered, and I only wish I had the insight to search for a solution at your age. Smart on you. So yeah yoga, and then I'd recommend researching stuff. Do a quick KZbin or goodle search for muscles connected to the hipflexors, and start understanding your body more. This is seriously widespread, you're not insane, other people experience it too. I hope this helped bro.

Hey Charlie! Please don't do any harm to yourself, you are important. I know anxiety and depression can be really tough! While it is nice to have friends, it's ok to not have any either because it may be hard to make or keep friends but if you're nice to others, they'll like you. It's ok to have bent or uneven legs, many people do. You can look up genu varum and genu valgum on google to see that human's have different types of curves in their legs. Legs can be curved for many reasons like bone shape or muscle tightness or other reasons. You are not alone and many people have different anatomy but if you are concerned then your doctor or physical therapist can be helpful to you. But even with a strange walk, social anxiety, and depression you are cool just being yourself and are a wonderful addition to this world, please don't think about hurting yourself. Btw, I hated high school! But it's a great time to find hobbies, for example I started playing guitar during high school and now I became really good at it. Maybe you'll find something that will bring you happiness too and help get you through uneasy times. If not that's ok too! :-)
