Doing this exercise relieves my sciatica. I practice my new gait on my walks. Reviewing the exercise today, I realize I've been forgetting to turn the zipper and doing that really makes a difference for my sciatica.❤

As someone who does fine-scale frame-by-frame gait analysis with every new client, one of the most missing elements of walking is the ability to get into the frontal plane in the body during heel strike phase. People get out of this phase way too quickly and never get that delay of getting into their pronation. They miss out on the crucial pronation phase of the gait cycle. I also get people who tell me 'I've never swung my arm properly when I walk. People keep pointing it out and whenever I try to swing it more it just makes things worse'. They don't realize the arm swing is just an emergent property of missing movement elsewhere.

Really great insights that I have not seen anywhere else. As a sidenote, some folks, like me, have to keep reminding myself which side I am looking at - so, maybe you could like at putting a little "indicator" above the persons shoulders to help with that - i.e. like "Right Side", "Left Side" - or something like that.

Man I’ve been following your left AIC pattern videos for awhile and they’ve been great, but I still had tons of left groin fascial nerve tension. And I just found the BEST way to mobilize it. I spread my legs open a bit and then I turn my left leg into internal rotation at the hip, then I turn my torso into left internal rotation and with a tall spine, kind of bounce deep into the direction of my left hip. It increasingly causes all these tingling sensations and feels like it’s stretching open a deep fascial(?) hold. I’ve just discovered this and it already has given me results! (Doing this sitting on a slightly raised surface as opposed to the floor seems to give me more leverage in the area)

Hey, I have groin pain as well. Did you end up curing it?
@hickorysocks2628
@hickorysocks2628 Жыл бұрын
@@DefeatLust hey! I improved it but haven’t cured it yet, but plan on curing it in the next few months. After tons of testing it seems I have pudendal neuralgia. What has improved it was acoustic shockwave therapy to my left pelvic area (around the sit bone) and a steroid injection to my left pudendal nerve. It doesn’t burn anymore but still feels kind of chronically contracted. So I’m going to be getting surgery with Dr Andrew Elkwood in New Jersey as soon as I can afford it. He seems to be the best doctor to go to for it. Almost definitely though your issue isn’t pudendal neuralgia. Had to rule out tons of stuff to land on this diagnosis. But it could possibly be. I’d suggest getting an mri of your pelvis and lumbar spine and seeing a pain doctor who is able to give ultrasound guided injections. These help your symptoms and in diagnosis. He might also order an ultrasound test of your groin as well to see if you have adductor tendinosis.

@@hickorysocks2628 My guy 🙏🏾 I appreciate your swift reply and recommendation. I'm going to keep on my stretch/strength routine for now, as i'm seeing slight improvement overtime. However, if it doesn't get fixed, then I will 100% get those tests done as you said (I would get them now, but in Canada, the doctors don't want to get them done unless you're literally dying....)
@hickorysocks2628
@hickorysocks2628 Жыл бұрын
@@DefeatLust you’re very welcome! I’m in Canada too actually - no one here does pudendal nerve decompression which is why I’m going to New Jersey for that. If you are in Ontario I highly reccomend Dr Wansbrough at the Orthopaedic rehabilitation institute in Toronto if your issues don’t seem to get resolved. If you don’t see improvement with the physio route, get on the wait list for an mri ASAP because it’s several months long. Unless you pay for private mri which is offered in some Canadian clinics. Ultrasound investigation of your groin though is covered by Canadian health insurance and is good for spotting any significant soft tissue abnormalities. Wait list for this is typically very brief. Hopefully you get better with your exercises though and avoid all of this.

@@hickorysocks2628 i'm out in B.C. my friend. My family doctor keeps pushing me away, and the urologist told me I was perfectly fine and to just figure it out with physio or get a surgeon. You know how it is. Anyways though, solid information brother. I noted everything down. If my physio doesn't work, then i'll for sure convince my doctor one or another. Ty again man. I am hoping to try more of your suggestions to continue to progress and work on my hips. Can't thank you enough.

Yes walking is a series of losing and re-gaining your balance and I have seen severe arm swing with hyper extension of the elbow. In the winter with backpack I keep my hands in my pockets then realize I need to swing my arms. Almost no one walks “elegantly” if you observe them.

Hi mate, thanks for everything you do, really appreciate your videos. I've just started following your left aic blog post exercises daily, and i understand there are many sensory factors to take into account, but assuming im not PEC and just have a left aic/right bc pattern, how long would something like this take to fix if working on it daily? im following your recommendation of 3 sets 5 breathes daily, and is it a slow progression of my ribs and hips opening up or is it a snap thing that just "happens"? Not in a rush just curious to get some more info as i do experience some pain in the right rib area, hence what led me to PRI. Any info is appreciated, thanks again and much love from Australia, appreciate your work

You would probably need to work on bringing your pelvis back to a bit of a more neutral state on both sides, and also getting some back ribcage expansion first for these to have maximal success
