A way to get badges without losing much time was found - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2i1Z4KXZc12qq8 It's a whole process but you only lose about 3-4 minutes at most, which makes it very worth it for Any%. We will be seeing sub 3 times very soon.

Alright. I started watching this, and was like "This is crazy...how many seconds is this gonna cut? Like, 20?" Then saw the Dreambert scene start, and noticed that that part of game hadn't even been gotten to yet here. and was like "THAT'S MORE THAN JUST 20 SECONDS" then I actually read the description. 25 minutes is genuinely really good. I literally watched a speedrun of this game yesterday, I think it was even on this channel.

22 minutes without considering the lack of EXP and badges in mid-late game, in reality it will probably save like 5-10 minutes. I think sub 3 is definitely going to be possible with this skip, but god it's going to be hard. This skip is also genuinely the hardest skip in the game, I haven't managed to do it all on console (I've done each individual part on console but not all at once). The new run will probably be the hardest the game has ever been. It is a pretty crazy skip though.

It saves 20 minutes of the 24 minutes now. We found a way to get badges early.

Dang, so this skips the first basement section and all the stuff like introduction to the dream world, dreamy mario fight, meeting dreambert, wow this is crazy. 25 minutes saved too holy. Won’t be surprised for a close to 2 and a half hour any % speedrun soon. Current wr is 3 hours

It does save ~22 minutes for just skipping Behind Pi'illo Castle & the first Dream World, but the unfortunate truth is that not only do we miss experience making Mushrise Park and Dozing Sands a bit slower, but we also do not have any badges which means Dreamy Bowser is practically impossible to kill at our current level. So we need to get to something like level 18 or 20 before we have a decent chance of killing Dreamy Bowser fast, which basically removes a lot of the timesave... On top of that, this skip is genuinely the hardest skip in the game that's technically RTA viable. I haven't managed to do it even once on console. I've done each individual part on console, but never all together. Regardless, I'm working on a speedrun route to make this route as fast as possible. Sub 3 should be possible, but sub 2:50 absolutely will not happen without the use of Secret Boxes (which is way too unreliable)
