Piacenza vs Verona - Pro volleyball with English commentary

Welcome to my new series, volleyball in English! Half analysis, half reaction, in these videos we'll watch parts of a professional volleyball match together and hopefully learn a thing or two about this amazing sport. This match took place on 16.12.2020 between two teams in the Italian Superleague, Piacenza and Verona. Both teams with interesting lineups in this one, with no opposites in the match for either team! This forced outside hitters like Aaron Russell and Trevor Clevenot to hit cballs throughout the match, resulting in some interesting rotations and situations.

Aaron Russell is comfortable playing opposite while in Position 1. If you Rewatch World Grand Championship 2017 ( Japan), While Russell was serving, he was playing like opposite because Anderson can pass the ball very well and there is no need to exchange places quickly while serving. Same is in this game i think Russell will play opposite whenever he will serve and receive in position 1.

talking about ben patch i dont understand how hes miles behind matt anderson even though hes not even an inch shorter than Matt, though he probably actually hits higher i just feel like he likes to smash right into the opposing blockers for some reason whats your take?

Anderson is just technically so much better in every way. Better blocking and really smart hitting when necessary.

Spike height isn't everything. Matt is a much smarter hitter, better defender, and MUCH better server

@@fiveonevolleyball8112 after seeing patch start doing topspin in Germany if he gets that consistent I think he might have a chance at over taking Anderson cause from what I've seen he's been hammering away

@@timmymelfi9006 He developed late. It's his choice to prioritize the mission of his university but most opposites his age have more experience because they started playing in Europe during their teens.

great commentary, I suggest you add more detail in the title such as the round the match played or just put the date in it (I know it's in description already) or just ignore this stupid suggestion. as always, can't get enough of any great VB content.
