This is great!😁 I’ve also found it helpful (in my own practicing) to practice primarily without pedal, even if the piece requires it. It’s especially strange but it’s important to remember that you won’t sound bad without the pedal (I’ve done this with Bach and Chopin); it might sound less colourful in the beginning, but it’s all about instilling the right touch for every note, without having the pedal as a crutch. Love your videos! 🎵

I always have trouble not knowing when to press the pedal and when to let go when im playing new pieces. I only press the pedal again when the sounds starts to get distorted or when there are chords.

Does the pedal work the same way on digital pianos? Or are they just a trigger that's on or off and no in between?

It depends. On simpler instruments it will only act as a binary on/off switch. A lot of instruments are, however, capable of more or less convincingly reproducing the nuances of a real pedal. They usually advertise this in the features list.
