Just bought this for our family. Once you use the app, it makes changing the settings and the sounds a lot easier. You can also add accompaniments and remove or add all layers of sounds and just leave the drum beats. Thanks for the video. Costco has at $599 now and there were only 2 left. Many blessings. I’ll be checking out your beginner lessons with my son.

This is a Roland Fp-30x wrapped up with a different name and a bundle exclusive for Costco. Its a great deal, the fp-30x alone is $699 without any of the stand, bench, headphones, or pedals. Its a great deal, if you buy these items separately it will be reaching close to a thousand dollars. Also it has Bluetooth connectivity so you can stream songs or Drum beats if you like theiugh its speakers. Honestly for the prices its a no brainer.

On the subject of changing the sound: my understanding is that this keyboard can connect via Bluetooth to your mobile device or tablet to use the Roland Piano App, which is a much more user-friendly way of adjusting all sorts of settings for the piano, including the sounds. The app also addresses another concern of yours: the lack of drum beats. You can have drums and other accompaniments play through the piano speakers and controlled via the app.
@thehitmusicstudio2 ай бұрын
That would make a lot of sense as I did find the way of changing sounds pretty complicated. While I do have an iPad and use it regularly to practice I think an instrument like this a lot of people want it as a stand alone way to make music. If you do get it let me know what you think of the app. Thanks for the comment. Truly appreciate it.

Thank you so much. I've been teaching myself to play for 4 years. I have several videos playing the Roland piano at Costco from last year including Green Onions with the organ sound. My Costco in New Jersey and New York just got these pianos in again but they are slightly different than last year. I could not figure out how to change the sound. Thanks for explaining it. I might buy this when it goes on sale. Costco will eventually put this on sale. I'm guessing $100 or $150 off. 👍

I saw your videos and you sound great! It is a shame that the keyboard is not that user friendly as I think lots of people are going to get confused in how to change the sounds. I think they should put a sticker on the front panel explaining how to change the sounds. I even did a negative review first thinking that it only had 3 sounds and a viewer pointed out my mistake which made me have to redo the whole video. Agreed that once it is lower $100 it would be a great value for an instrument that is a great option to begin with. I’m trying to make a zoom group to test out a a video course that I have in case you are interested. It would be for free just to get feedback on the content

If you have the budget go with the Yamaha. It is a great instrument with lots of great features. Of course it is more than double the price of the Nuvola but I do believe it is a great investment! Hi, a few things. You mentioned it wasnt as good of a deal as others, but im curious, at $699, what are some other deals you find would be better value? Keeping in mind this does come with the furniture stand and pedals. Also i see people comment that this is a great beginner entry piano, for a lot of other models, but i eant to know how far you can go before it can hold you back. Can an advanced player use this on stage for a band? Will you cap out at intermediate? Im trying to really buy once, without wanting to upgrade, but i want to make sure itll last me
@thehitmusicstudio2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I love Yamaha and I think the P125 is a really good instrument. The Nuvola is a bit different but both instruments I believe would never hold you back and can be used by a professional in demanding situations. The stand is nice but I don't think is necessary.. Yamaha and Roland sound different but I believe either instrument would be one that I don't think you would ever have to upgrade. Digital pianos that are say in the $1000 range are nice but as a piano player that has done touring gigs with rented instruments all over the country I can tell you it is very normal to have a piano like this one be more than enough for most gigs that might come your way. Hope that helps.

@thehitmusicstudio2 ай бұрын
Just to be sure are you talking about the Fp30x? I haven tried that one myself but they seem very similar. Brands like Roland, Yamaha and Casio sometimes make a model to be sold exclusively by a certain retailer so there is no way for anyone to do a price matching. In essence the instruments are very similar but they change some things to be able to call them a different model. If you want to stay in this price point I would say the Nuvola or the Yamaha P125 are very comparable. I personally like Yamaha better but either are great options and instruments that you last you decades. Hope that helps!

I was considering getting a digital piano to play while I restore my real piano and this was one of the ones I was looking at but I couldn't get it to tune lower than 440hz which is almost a whole note higher than what I write for, it only went higher and there was no documentation on the shop floor so all I could do is figure it out on my own but never got it. I was looking for one with a forte piano sound cause that's what I write for which this one didn't have so I moved on to other ones but never found one I would be happy with let alone for what I was willing to pay since this one would have been good enough if it had the sound I needed and the ability to tune really low. I did see a couple others that suit my needs but an 88 key piano is too long for my space and they were so expensive, otherwise they were nice to play on at the store and I realised I was better at piano than the unrestored one I have at home made me believe.
@thehitmusicstudio2 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes you are right about the tuning. I personally never detune my piano just because I don’t have a musical need to be playing with another instrument that would be in a different tuning but I understand that for some that would be an important feature. I do use the transpose feature all the time and that is very standard in this keyboard. I believe it can go a fifth up or a fourth down which is usually exactly what I need. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for your comment. As mentioned in the video I don't think it is a bargain at $700 but at the same time I do think it is a great instrument. Is it better than a Yamaha P125? I don't believe so. Roland makes great instrument but the market has gotten extremely competitive for them to continue to charge a premium for their brand. I personally own multiple Roland keyboards and digital pianos and have payed the premium for their brand myself in the past. I am glad to see that they are offering options to remain competitive with other companies in order to have more people explore the joy of making music. My video is intended to help our customers at our local music school in South Florida so they can check and compare instruments that they might be considering to purchase for their classes. I would love to make a more in depth review if I had access to having this instrument for multiple weeks at our studio, but until Roland sends me one (Roland Dm Me! :) ) I will continue to test instruments and make videos so I can share my opinion for free with others in the hopes they can make their own mind about what instrument is best for them.
