I haven't been able to find the piece that is edited by Harold Bauer, even though I did go on the Imslp site. I ordered a copy of this but the edition is by Joseph Gahm and it's difficult to read. Can you give me another source? Thanks, Roseanna

Very helpful indeed. Now I don't feel so alone! Thank you Tommy. (I notice that Yuja Wang and several other professional pianists play the C# in bars 24 & 32 as trill, presumably moving all the accompaniment into the left hand..?)
@TommysPianoCorner2 жыл бұрын
Yes. In fact I think it might have started with Rachmaninov playing that trill. I’d bet Yuja could perhaps manage the trill and some other notes all in her right hand :-) - although it does look like she moves the other notes to the left. I doubt in my case I could manage such a long trill at the moment though so I’ve kept it simple for now.

First thanks a lot for this very sharp and usefull video. It is a so wonderfull music that I started to look at the score as you suggested. May I have one question : My english is not fluent and I did not understood the meaning of the two colors you are using for example measure 8 and 9. I would very appeciate if you could tell me why these two colors. Thank you.

The yellow highlight is because we have two notes (an upper note played in the right hand and, simultaneously, a lower note played in the left hand). The Pink is where we we have a single note rather than two. It’s a sort of ‘aide mémoire’ to help as we’re reading the score. What I found helpful was to colour code these little differences to help me as I was learning it. Does that make sense? If not, guessing by your name, vous préférez peut-être français? Je ne suis pas certain de pourvoir mieux l’expliquer, mais je peux au moins essayer :-)

@@TommysPianoCorner excuse me , because I am reading your answer juste now? So first great thanks. Your explanation is perfectly clear, and I understand. I am trying to learn the Juja wang version (encore version) but your video is helping a lot. Merci beaucoup ! because you took the time to answer me.
