Emily loved Victor out of grief. It was genuine affection, yes, but built from desperation and a desire for closure. In the end, it would never really be enough for either of them. I think Victor likes Emily. Genuinely, he liked her. She was exceedingly different from everyone else he’d ever met-she was COLOR in a Tim Burton movie, which is how you know she’s one-of-a-kind. But she was also a literal corpse, and one who dragged him into “marriage” in the first place. But I think that she was mostly just,,,, an escape. Unsustainable. Their relationship would have eventually decomposed.
