I've watched many repair vids for a lot of different stuff, and you are by far the best. I've never seen anyone explain in such great detail. I edon't even have this keyboard, but wanted to know how it works. Thank you for showing teaching me how to replace these keys.

Thank you ! I removed the front cover, instead of moving the keybed up (so risking to damage the cable). Nevertheless, I am most grateful for your video - I have successfully switched two keys (as you did) and am now waiting for a replacement key - which should arrive tomorrow. Thanks again.

Thanks for this great video. Oddly enough, my B key was also the one that was sticking. While I did order a new key, I think the main issue was that the lubricant was getting tacky, causing a sluggish response. I removed the factory lubricant and added DuPont Krytox Grease, which did the trick. Krytox is pricey, but a lot cheaper than a trip to an authorized tech.

This was incredible. I don't use the MO8 much these days, but when I'd move it, different keys would be stuck; one of the little persons in the home thought it was a good idea to slide something between some of the keys. a small jiggle would make the keyboard function fine, but today, I just got sick of it. I was able to safely extract a penny and a quarter sized washer...I had to remove about 12 keys total to find them both, but this was a great tutorial. Thanks for posting. Ted Twis

Also, to all concerned, if you remove the front panel under the keys you don't have to disconnect the keyboard from the bottom plate to remove the keys. They will just slide forward. It's 2 screws on the sides and about 8 under the front lip.

Qn to this fix... so what was wrong with the initial key that it had to be switch.. coz i dont think if its sticking it has to do with the key rather its getting caught... or was this just a key replacement nothing wrong with the KB

Thank you very much. Your instructions are very clear. Excellent job! I did remove the front cover in order to clear the way for pulling out the key instead of doing your way though. I took the key out and I could feel a little sticky on both sides of the key.I used paper towel with a little of water to wipe on the sides of the key until I could feel clean/smooth on both sides.I put the same key back and it works like new. Thanks again.

Thank you for the video. I had the same problem. The very same key as well :) In my case the problem was the lubricant. It was old, tacky and caused the slow release. Also I first removed the front plate, so i didn't have to unscrew the keyboard plate, in order to click those keys out..

Ok. I just want to point out that these instructions are very good for the model you are doing but are no where close for the motif xs8. You do have to take the sides off but then there’s more screws on top that will allow you to lift the top back being careful of the 3 sets of connection wires. But luckily I noticed after 10 yrs there was so much dust and a strip of grimy crap from every time I wiped the keys. So after cleaning and blowing it out with air, the key didn’t stick anymore. Actually all the keys have so much more action now. But if I had to change one of the keys, you almost have to take the whole thing apart to work on it. But anyway problem solved for now. Thanks.

@michaelrosen75593 жыл бұрын
Which buttons? The ones that get used a lot? Tact switches wear out eventually and need to be replaced. Also , if something was accidently spilled in the keyboard panel - bad news.
@otterman4453 жыл бұрын
@@michaelrosen7559 I tore into it deeper and found the rubber mats with dirt on them. Also searched and found out how to remove and clean the keys. Had to replace some of the worn panel buttons by ordering them from a source in Texas. The ones that were painful were the actual switch buttons that needed to be unsoldered from the board and replaced. Thanks for noticing and replying.

hi there can you describe how to remove key from psr2000 for cleaning purpose and lose keys thanks
@dalecsaunders2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou, this was a very helpful video. As some other people have mentioned, it seems that the lubricant gets somewhat gummy, and a cleaning suffices to repair. Also I agree with another reply that it is much easier to remove the lower front panel ( I have the M08) instead of jockeying the keyboard rail. Korg used the Clavinova keyboard in the SGproX models, so this info applies as well.

Does this apply to MO6 as well ? My left most C key sounds really loud. I read from the Web that this is caused by one of the two contacts for this C key does not make contact. Meaning only one contact is made instead of two, and that foul the keyboard in thinking that the key was hit hard ( = FAST) causing the sound to be really loud, even when I press it sligjhtly.
@jimmyjamz7400 Жыл бұрын
Replace the contact strips it will fix that issue… Ive replaced them on my moxf8 and it fixed the problem…
