The history lesson is needed, but you touch on something very important. The music has to move you and that's something all the books can't teach.

Mr. Warren, Thank you for your immense generosity of sharing your profound knowledge, understanding and skills of music performance and music composition with me and the world! But, I extend a special and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you for your God-like Generosity of reminding me and the world of the greatness, the beauty, the giftedness and the pioneering spirit of Mr. Thomas Dorsey. Over the years, I heard about Dr. Thomas Dorsey, but he was never presented to me in the depth of his accomplishments in music in general, and Gospel Music in particular, and his "Divine, God-like Generosity" to music and his "No excuses attitude about Business: I'll Create My Own Opportunity and Not Beg Other People for A Fair Opportunity". Your example of recognizing, honoring and celebrating Dr. Dorsey for his contribution to Gospel Music, his pioneering and exemplary spirit of creating his own publishing company and charting his own destiny and not complaining about racism and somebody else holding him back is a model of inspiration to us all. And, Mr. Warren, your exemplary generosity and leadership of recognizing, honoring and celebrating Dr. Thomas Dorsey on your platform, which many would consider small, and not waiting for other people, other races, and other medias to recognize, honor and celebrate our great men and women is an exemplary model for us all to use our platforms to do the same. In closing, I enjoyed the lessons today: "The 3 Must Learn Gospel Technique", Dr. Dorsey's, No Excuses Model: stop complaining and begging other people for an opportunity and create your own opportunity, and the importance of us all, on a consistent basis, recognizing, honoring and celebrating our great men and women on our own platforms, and to stop waiting for other people and other medias to celebrate them. Thank you. LBH

Our king David is the true pioneer of gospel music. Psalms 137:1-9 [1]By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. [2]We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. [3]For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. [4]How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land? [5]If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. [6]If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. [7]Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. [8]O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. [9]Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. We are in fact the Children of Israel who is scattered in all 4 corners of the earth in captivity. So my brother in your father is Jamaica you are from the tribe of Benjamin of the 12 tribes of Israel. Gen 49 and Deuteronomy 28. Read your biblical history. We know our history while in captivity but not biblically which led into American slavery ect....🙏🏿
24:52 Warren i think another way to see the superlocrian Is with the Melodic minor not the harmonic minor of the Key semitone away. You played the harmonic minor which fits correctly with the dimished scale but i guess you wanted to say the melodic minor instead of the harmonic minor (you can cross check It again:) ) as always good lesson

Thanks Warren for the wonderful lesson. What made you choose to play the harmonic minor scale over the diminished chord instead a regular diminished scale?

I don’t find the diminished scale very melodic, and gets a little way out into jazz territory.

Hey Bro. Warren, great lesson. I'm currently not playing keyboard in a Black church, but I do perform Specials before Service starts. Your lesson is worth learning to become more skillful playing Black Gospel music. I really like the sound of that C Major 13 Chord you used. Makes me want to have a Fried Chicken Dinner this coming Sunday. Suppose snow a lot this weekend. Thank you for that Black History story. I grew up listening to Mahalia Jackson, The Dixie Hummingbirds, The Soulstirs and The Mighty Clouds of Joy. I still listen to them on Pandora. Are you familiar with James Cleveland? Thank you Warren for your tutorials they are very, very helpful. Blessings, Cynthia
