M1, truly a solid board that could still keep up with sound quality! I remember trading up from Ensoniq SQ80 to an M1. Holy cow. LOL. Instead of sampling and chasing that pure and clean sound, it was all right there with so much more polyphony. Sounds at a click instead of loading up disks? My first REAL quality workstation. Who remembers the Roland U220? That was another eye opening toy! Those days were so much fun experiencing the revolution of affordable home studio gear that the pro's were using! A love of synths that continues 40 years later!

If you search for hte musicradar article "Which synth was used to create the Seinfeld slap bass sound" they point out that it's not the M1 or the 360 Systems MIDI Bass, but instead a set of processed samples. The video shows him playing it on a Kurzweil.
@NicolasMelis3 ай бұрын
Yes, I did search and watched the video where he plays it on a Kurzweil. However, I’ve also read that he actually sampled the M1 sound, among others, to create that sound and played it on the Kurzweil. While I’m not 100% sure about this, the sound on the M1 does sound close to my ears, so I included it in the list. Plus, it was fun to play!:)

what's up friend? You made me remember the old days and it's great. On the other hand, I would like to ask you if there is any way to transfer the sounds from a Yamaha synthesizer to a DAW program and have said information recorded in MIDI format to be able to edit the notes in the software? Since the synthesizer has good sounds that I would like to transfer to the computer and be able to tweak the notes, since I don't know how to use the keyboard and on the computer through the MIDI format I can place the musical notes in the correct pitch. and that is what I need to be able to compose some musical themes. I hope I have explained myself correctly. g Greetings and thanks!
@NicolasMelis3 ай бұрын
Hi! To transfer sounds from your Yamaha synthesizer to a DAW and record in MIDI format, connect your synthesizer to your computer using a MIDI interface or USB cable, install any necessary drivers, and configure your DAW to recognize the MIDI input. Create a new MIDI track, enable recording, and play your synthesizer to record the MIDI notes! Hope that helps :)
