M1, truly a solid board that could still keep up with sound quality! I remember trading up from Ensoniq SQ80 to an M1. Holy cow. LOL. Instead of sampling and chasing that pure and clean sound, it was all right there with so much more polyphony. Sounds at a click instead of loading up disks? My first REAL quality workstation. Who remembers the Roland U220? That was another eye opening toy! Those days were so much fun experiencing the revolution of affordable home studio gear that the pro's were using! A love of synths that continues 40 years later!

If you search for hte musicradar article "Which synth was used to create the Seinfeld slap bass sound" they point out that it's not the M1 or the 360 Systems MIDI Bass, but instead a set of processed samples. The video shows him playing it on a Kurzweil.
@NicolasMelis5 ай бұрын
Yes, I did search and watched the video where he plays it on a Kurzweil. However, I’ve also read that he actually sampled the M1 sound, among others, to create that sound and played it on the Kurzweil. While I’m not 100% sure about this, the sound on the M1 does sound close to my ears, so I included it in the list. Plus, it was fun to play!:)
