Amazing that you have this treasure. Vladimir Bakk also studied with Neuhaus at the Gnesian school. Thank you so much. History of greatness!

The first one with Neuhaus is, but the second one is Malinina. I just found this out last night.

I just found out by accident. I might upload that section separately because I think it's not commonly known that there's video footage of young Inna Malinina.

To be honest I don't know Malinina's playing so well...should check out some of her recordings...any recommendations?

@@mckernan603 Yes, considering that there is now video of Josef Hofmann at the piano about four years before Scriabin's death.

As Heifetz said "There is no top." Things can never be perfect, although they may seem that way. If God listens in on some of our very best performers, I wonder if He simply disregards all the small imperfections which He must surely hear? I bet He does!!! I like this short video. Thanks.

Fascinating vintage footage - many thanks for this treasure. I was interested to note the first young lady's raised shoulders which are clearly not copied from her master! Goldenweiser looks forbiddingly fierce (but maybe he was a pussycat at heart!?)

In some of the photographs ABG does appear rather bilious and disdainful.

No, Goldenweiser wasn't a very kind person, he was very hot-tempered. Grigory Ginzburg, his student and pupil from childhood, recalled that his teacher in anger could shout at him and throw the notes out of the window. Then Ginzburg had to run after them.

What a brilliant legacy! Btw I wonder whether the semitone raised pitch means that the video is going faster by 5 % than actual playing. It is likely to me judging from the movements of their bodies.
@rich80373 жыл бұрын
It certainly and invariably means that. The original was probably shot at 24fps and played back at 25fps.

Ive seen this posted somewhere else on YTube.I think I will get that SCriabin prelude up again.the one the girl played .and she did a good job.except it s supposed to get loud near the end before it goes to nothing.It was my fist introduction to SCriabin and not as hard as it sounds.I hope you are both well and enjoying the the sring sun which is lovely in the southern half of the UK.I ve got to see a doctor today and am terrified of them.

Hello. The Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 by Frederic Chopin. You should try to listen: Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 Op.11 Evgeny Kissin (The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Conductor: Zubin Mehta) and "old school" also: Rosina Lhevinne plays Chopin Concerto No. 1 in E minor Op. 11
