My “aha” moment was when you kept saying “just guess.” When I have a metronome on, I do pretty well because I can’t look at every note and so I just try to follow the contours and the intervals. But without the metronome I am prone to stopping all the time and it’s painful. Seeing an experienced musician tell me they’re just guessing gives me permission, and it feels pretty good. Also, the tip on keeping your eyes moving really helped me, too. Just trying that for the first time felt weirdly liberating. It’s hard to describe, but it feels pretty good.

100%. Sight reading is truly a lot of (educated) guessing. Glad the video helped!

I practice sightreading at least 15 minutes everyday for the last 4 or 5 months. My piano skill level went up at least 10 fold for every minute spent sightreading. It's a skill that gives back.

I started sight reading every day about a month ago. I do it about 20-30 minutes every day. I have sight reading books but I prefer real music scores. I am making sight reading a permanent part of my daily practice. I hope to see significant gains in a year.

You need to increase the loudness in mastering, currently I think it shows -6.2db on stats for nerds option for this video, it should be around 0 db, for the best loudness for YT. It does matter for gaining more views.

I just noticed yesterday about how her audio is now perfect; which will increase channel growth. However, content should also improve. I often comment about audio level bec its the number 1 problem on almost all channels for which nobody wanna watch them, and the channel owners remain deaf, or tell us to increase the volume. Jeff White's own Piano channel has pathetic low sound, which is a shame.@@ForbiddenPlanetB
