Thank you. You just solved a nightmare. I can't believe it was this simple all along. I tried Pianote and many other website that I had to pay for with no result (cause I am an idiot) and this simple free lesson just made everything click for me. I’m 66 yrs old and can’t get out, I’ve always wanted to learn piano but all the books I have tried haven’t explained music as well as you do, I can read music a little bit but do struggle to understand what it all means, for instance the treble clef and bass clef, I had no idea how much information they gave. As a mum with little ones I spent a lot of hours driving to piano lessons. It's embarrassing to say, but I had to hire a tutor to help my kids with their homework every week, as I could not read music and had a total block. Now my kids are grown I thought to try to learn myself. I am working on the book that my daughter used when she was four. I am enjoying learning but I was looking for some extra help to get beyond "mouse mousie in the housie." I just found you yesterday and I think you are wonderful. I am going to do lesson two now.

@@abdurrahimahmadov4309 hey mate I would say if you can afford 88 weighted keys, go for that and if you are on a budget then stick with 61 keys. I have a cheap 61 keys and it's not bad at all but certainly won't sound so great like the 88 keys. In fact if you think that you are going to have a great musical life with a piano then I must insist on buying the 88 keys especially the weighted keys as it's a different lovely animal than a cheap 61 keys.

11:01 SUPER IMPORTANT discussion starts on how to properly position your hands and apply pressure with your fingers to the piano keys without injuring yourself. Keep in mind, when typing on a computer keyboard, the computer keyboard is like playing on a piano. Be mindful of how you hold your hands and apply pressure with your fingers when you are typing on a computer keyboard AND when you are playing the piano. Believe it or not, it's the same thing. Hi Debra, there are no correct fingers for the keys in general. Each piece of music has unique finger placement, and most pieces beyond the basics will move to different places during the one piece.
