Your tutorials are EXCELLENT! I am coming from the sheet music side and trying to improv and get into chording. I have yet to find tutorials for chords online with ACTUAL COUNTING in them - this is perfect. Fantastic amount of explanation and example - clearly works for beginners or more experienced. The chord charts are clean and easy to read and much appreciated as an addition! Have made a list of ones to go through ... will start with this one though ... because I am very familiar with both the NIN and Cash versions, hahaha!

I have got it down, Nate. I'm doing well on the verses. I just need a little work on the octaves on the chorus. I never realized that this song was attainable for my skill level. I'll always owe a debt of gratitude to you for progressing my piano journey. Somehow I stumbled across your tutorial for "Wild World". After attempting that one, I wait each week in anticipation for the next wonderful tutorial. You have helped me so much. I love this one, too. I also believe Cash did it better. I think Reznor actually agreed that Cash's version was better! LOL ... still working on "Losing My Religion" any tricks for that tricky fingering right there in the intro? ... you might have gotten this a bunch; how 'bout "blinding lights" by The Weekend?

I believe it!! Hmm, try slowing down the playback speed and copy how i did it. It is definitely tricky. The key will be to practice it really slow and very gradually speed it up. (i'm currently travelling and not around a piano to give you a more specific response.) Blinding lights is a good idea!

The chords sound exactly like Johnny's version, but the NIN original version sounds slightly different, are the chords different as well? I personally prefer Trent's version of the song, particularly live versions where it's just Trent on piano and want to try replicating it.

Hey! The chords are *almost* the same, though in a different key (johnny's starts on Am, NIN's starts on Bm). BUT, there is an added dissonant note to that first chord in the NIN version that is a tritone above the root (so a high F for Bm, or a high Eb for Am). That note adds an unsettling dissonance that is characteristic of the NIN vibe....i think that might be whats missing for you here. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Or is it just the Am that turns into Bm and the rest is the same? Stumbled upon your videos and like your teaching style, going to give this one a shot as my first one.
